Gomi no Sensei

If Rex, the Necronomist (combat cards cost an additional blood) has the Ankara Citadel (blood costs are halved), which could happen via Clan Impersonation or Disputed Territory or some such, are costs: 1) halved then cost an additional blood (so he still pays 2 blood for Wolf Claws and 1 for Immortal Grapple) or 2) cost an additional blood then halved (so he pays 0 for Immortal Grapple and 1 for Wolf Claws) gomi -- i haul the burden for the high and mighty but i'm the top hat devil's son i've got the luck of the drunk, try an' nail me i'm the bullseye - aim your gun

>If Rex, the Necronomist (combat cards cost an additional blood) >has the Ankara Citadel (blood costs are halved), which could happen >via Clan Impersonation or Disputed Territory or some such, are costs: On a similar note, what happens if Rex is up against Watenda? Rex plays Claws of the Dead, so if Watenda wants to use his special, is the "cost" 1 (what Claws normally is) or 2 (what Rex has to pay for it). How about Watenda vs. someone with Ankara? Does the cost reducing effect of Ankara actually help Watenda? And if the opposing vampire uses Inner Essence (which reduces cost), this also helps Watenda? Similar situation with some card (can't think of the name) that causes the opponent to pay additional blood for strike cards? Halcyan 2

So first, you find out what the cost is: add one for Rex. Then Rex pays half the cost. > On a similar note, what happens if Rex is up against Watenda? Rex's card text says that the cost is increased, so the cost is increased. Watenda has to burn blood equal to the cost. > How about Watenda vs. someone with Ankara? Does the cost reducing > effect of Ankara actually help Watenda? No, since Ankara doesn't change the cost - it merely allows the vampire to pay half the cost to play the card. > And if the opposing vampire uses Inner Essence (which reduces cost), > this also helps Watenda? Similar situation with some card (can't Yes, since Inner Essense says it "reduces the cost". > think of the name) that causes the opponent to pay additional blood > for strike cards? Terror Frenzy. Terror Frenzy doesn't increase the cost. [RTR 01-MAY-2000] -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
