Something that came up a week or so ago, and I forgot to post about. I'm thinking now that I made a mistaken judgement at the time, but I want to make sure, as a tournament (that Mark announced) is coming up. Undead Persistence vs. Disarm Vampire A is going to torpor due to damage received. Plays Undead Persistence. Vampire B, frustrated that the huge strike didn't send Vampire A to torpor decides to Disarm Vampire A. What happens? My judgement at the time was that since Disarm reads "send to torpor" and it was played after, it was effective. However, looking at the rulings, etc. "Undead Persistence will protect the vampire from torpor (but not from being burnt) for the duration of its effect (until end of combat or three rounds with no cards). This is errata to the Sabbat version. [RTR 19991206]" So...I'm guessing that Disarm does nothing further...though it would prevent Vampire A (in the absence of Potence strikes/Lucky Blow) from doing any further hand damage...resulting in pretty much the same net effect, assuming only hand strikes/S:CE was going to be played for the rest of the combat. Correct. The Persistent vampire will not go to torpor for the duration of the UP, whether from damage, Disarm, Coma, etc. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
