Two questions: One, do most people out there play with tournament 6 card limit on TB since it is so silly? Two, is there an actual ruling somewhere limiting it to 6 cards as per tourney for other silly cards like Majesty? thanks. -greg -- //---------------------------------------------------------------------- // "Although this may seem a paradox, all exact science is dominated // by the idea of approximation." -- Bertrand Russell (1872-1970) // Founder of the mathematical phenomenon known as 'Russell's Paradox.' //---------------------------------------------------------------------

Official DCI tournament rules have no 6 card limit (or any other card limit) on any cards. The old DCI rules (before Oct. 1995) had a 6CL on Majesty, Freak Drive, Kine Resources Contested, etc. But these limits were discarded in favor of fixing the rules that had made the limits necessary. The fixes: No Repeat Actions, PAs burned for votes are not replaced until the end of the turn. -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@regency.wizards.com) Official VtES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. The same vampire cannot use more than one Freak Drive in a turn or the same PLAYER cannot use more than one in a turn? So, if a single vampire cannot use more than one of particular card in a turn, say Majesty, then if a combat is started over again with Psyche then Majesty could not be used by that vampire again to end the combat a second time? Likewise, if the combat was ended for yet a second time via some other card, then the other combatant could not use a second Psyche card? Please clarify. thanks. -greg zuvich [ quoted text not captured ]

"no repeat actions" means a minion may not attempt the same action twice in a minion phase. action being those things that you do when tapping a minion and saying "this guy is doing......(whatever)". if you get in a fight, and play majesty, and they psyche, then you can majesty again. majesty is not an action. the previously limited cards are now no longer limited in any way, except with regard to their manner of untapping a minion...sort of...i mean, the restriced cards mostly allowed untapping, which now isn't so nasty because you can only do one of a particular action each minion phase. before you could bleed, freak drive, then bleed again. now, if you bleed, and freak drive, you have to do some action other than bleed, if you want to take an action. i really should be going now so i'll leave the rest of the explaining to more coherent people.... salem christ....

I understand. But there is no limit on any cards, even Majesty. Some cards are banned (Ante cards, Paralyze cards, and Monocle), but other than that, there are nor restrictions on deck contruction (except for card backs). > #> Two, is there an actual ruling somewhere limiting it to 6 cards as per > #tourney > #> for other silly cards like Majesty? > # > #Official DCI tournament rules have no 6 card limit (or any other card > #limit) on any cards. The same vampire cannot use more than one Freak > Drive in a turn or the same PLAYER cannot use more than one in a turn? The limit is on action types (Bleed, Vote, Hunt, etc.). A minion cannot attempt an action of the same type more than once per turn. > So, if a single vampire cannot use more than one of particular card in a turn, > say Majesty, then if a combat is started over again with Psyche then Majesty > could not be used by that vampire again to end the combat a second time? > Likewise, if the combat was ended for yet a second time via some other card, > then the other combatant could not use a second Psyche card? The are no restrictions on anything but attempting actions. You are free to use Majesty in as many combats per turn as you like.
