Hypothetical situation: Rise of the Nephtali is in play. Victor Pelletier (after going anarch) gains the title of Liaison. My prey's Anarch Convert decides he wants to be the Liaison instead, and takes the action successfully. Who yields the title? Rise of the Nephtali's text: If this title would be contested with a younger vampire, the younger vampire immediately yields instead of contesting. Victor's text: If Victor's title would be contested, he immediately yields instead of contesting.

[ quoted text not captured ] IANLSJ (by a long chalk) but I suspect Victor's text is conditonal on the previous part of his special - "When Victor enters play, you may pay 1 pool to make him a primogen, 2 pool to make him Prince of Paris, or 3 pool to make him Ventrue Justicar. If Victor's title would be contested, he immediately yields instead of contesting." I.e If you pay pool to give him the Princedom, or make him the Justicar, he will yield *those* titles. I could be, and often am wrong, however.

[ quoted text not captured ] I2ANLJS, but it seems they must both "immediately yield". The interpretation that Victor's 'yield' only refers to his 'special' title, while conceptually reasonable, doesn't match his card text, which would have to say something like, "If *this* title would be contested..."

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] Correct, they both yield.
