Does anyone has a nice strategy for making Reversal of Fortunes useful? I've only been able to come up with one, it's a stealth deck with RoF and Millicent Smith. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

One other situation I can think of is that if you know your prey has a card out that makes him win in his next turn, and the card is burnable. Then you could play RoF so soemone else gets to burn that card, provided they want to help you with that. What card that would be etc, I'm too lazy to try figure out right now, but I'm sure there could be such an occassion. However that's just a one-time effect of RoF and not a strategy. I should clarify. Take your turn...call a RoF as your last action. Your (former) predator takes a turn, hammering on your (former) grand-predator. At the end of his turn, call another RoF with Madness Network. Take your turn again, continuing to harm your (original) prey. Wash, rinse, repeat. I first saw Legbiter play this in JOL, I think...though it could have been Justin Fang. Xian -- I'd tell the world and save my soul, But rain falls down and I feel cold. You're still bleeding to your left as far as I know. So it would mean that your predator still bleeds you after you make a RoF, but still it could be a good strategy if your predator is weak and have very few vamps. It will let you bleed your prey over na dover again and he doesn't get to untap... > > -- > I'd tell the world and save my soul, But rain falls down and I feel cold. > A cold that sleeps within my heart, It tears the earth and sun apart. > --_Shellshock_, New Order > www.waste.org/~xian > > [ quoted text not captured ]

I'd hate to be across the table though....This would mean that I'd NEVER get a turn until he ran out of RoF cards. -Brian "cantila" <rogc...@student.luth.se> wrote in message news:8s2lu5$6n$1...@nnrp1.deja.com... > In article <vE4F5.1661$kX2.1...@news.uswest.net>, > "Xian" <xi...@waste.org> wrote: > > > > "cantila" <rogc...@student.luth.se> wrote in message > > news:8s2k04$uad$1...@nnrp1.deja.com... > > > Does anyone has a nice strategy for making Reversal of Fortunes > useful? > > > I've only been able to come up with one, it's a stealth deck with > RoF > > > and Millicent Smith. > > > > Malkavians and Madness Network? I've got a few Reversals in my Madness Network deck. The ides is to call RoF/Dramatic Upheaval/Kindred Restructure at the end of other people's turns to give yourself more turns. RoF lets you do this while keeping a consistent prey, which can be nice. I usually want to cherry-pick with the table re-arrangement, but if the deck was bleed-heavy, the RoFs would be better. Plus you can play with Millicent. It was one of the first Betrayer games, and the deck was REALLY motoring until it hit the wretched RoF/Madness network combo. VERY nice trick but EXTREMELY boring to be on the receiving end of. BTW Cantila is right that the next guy to take a turn is STILL your predator. [ quoted text not captured ]

Still works pretty nastily, though...and thanks to all who caught this blunder, otherwise I might have decided to try to build it with a few new Malkavian Riders I picked up recently. Eeeek. No. Our Grand & Glorious Madness Network works at the end of someone else's minion phase, before their influence phase begins. After the referendum passes, that player would still finish out their turn, Masika would untap, and the person on their left (or right, if you are Reversing) would begin their turn. You could force everyone to move clockwise just to anger them. They might become so cross that they'll make a mistake. No. Madness Network actions happen during someone's minion phase, not "between your turn and your prey's". (card text). Your minions cannot take MN actions during your own turn, since such actions are to be taken after you have finished with your actions (card text). But you are free to Kindred Restructure on your own turn in a normal action, after which you will finish your minion phase, take your influence and discard phases as normal, and then the player to your left will take her turn (Reversal of Fortunes notwithstanding). Or you can Kindred Restructure with one of your P/J Malks at the end of someone else's minion phase. Then she will take her influence and discard phases as normal, and then the player to her left (you, presumably) will take the next turn (again, assuming RoF not in effect). The beauty of the deck is that it has that flexibility. Myself, in general, I'd want my prey to have a go, rather than my predator. Maybe lock my prey out once or twice to ensure that my grand-prey isn't ousted prematurely, whilst generally stopping my predator hitting me. [ quoted text not captured ]

Actually I have a Big Toreador deck, based around the Toreador Grand Ball, RoF and Millicent, with enough KRC's to oust and enough 2nd Traditions with Eagle Sights to block any action taken. Combined with a lot of Bloat, it has it's moments. Sure I can't bleed, but 6 pool loss a turn should oust my prey eventually.
