Gather
+1 stealth action. Unique. Put this card in play, tapped, and choose a
younger Gangrel in your uncontrolled region. During the influence
phase, you may tap this card to move that Gangrel to your ready
region, with whatever counters he or she has, unless that Gangrel
would contest a vampire in play. Any vampire can burn this card as a
(D) action that costs 1 pool.
The card stays in game until burnt. Later in the game the chosen
vampire enters torpor. Can I move him to the ready region in my
influence-phase by tapping this card?

No. It only works on uncontrolled Gangrel.

Uncontrolled region I hope. Otherwise I could tap it to move a
contested Ganrel to my ready-region (contesting it again, I know)
or tap it to move my everyday Gangrel having played Descent into
Darkness to my ready region without burning the action-card (don't
even try to convince me I'd ever try anhything as convoluted).

Thank you for answering even though somebody else did asking this
before (I found your answer in the meantime, next time I look before
posting).
I wonder what was the intention that the card stays in game after the
vampire enters the ready region. Just to protect him from Banishments?
To make the card weaker? I thought the answer is because he can use
it's effect more often (beside the mentionend Banishment). I fear the
card is not attractive to play with this ruling. You have to invest an
action, a pool, need a younger vampire, have to protect the card and
have to remove it afterwards for another action and pool to be able to
play another one because it's uniqueness. The effect of the card is
that you save on some influences on a highcap vampire and get him out
earlier with less poolinvestment, something you can get on a less
complicate way with Info-Highway/Dreams and Minion Tap.
Or ist there a clue I missed? Help me community ;o).

This has been my assumption. Don't want people easily Gathering repeatedly
because there might be an abuse in that.

People who have played with it have said good things about it. Since I can't
see any reason to play with it, I think this is another case where I have to
play someone else's deck and see what the supposed benefit is.

You can get out a minion at a very reduced cost at greatly improved speed.
I think there's obvious benefits right there. Also you dont -have- to remove
it yourself,
unless you're trying to build a trick deck with it.
Playing Info Highway + minion tap just looks like a greater investment to me
than playing Gather and defending it a turn, but that might just be my
misguided judgement.

my guess : clumsy wording =P

To prevent you from turbo-Gathering.
The card is unique, and takes a 1-pool action to burn it. So you need
to spend some resources to play a second Gather.
Otherwise, it would be too easy to get a zillion free Gangrel into play.

Hm... don't forget that you have to pay one pool and at least one
action to bring one vampire out faster. With Minion Taps you can do
that more often, without investing another pool and action, although
you are a bit more slow.

You also have to make a much larger initial investment.
Mid-game that can be crucial when you don't have the
pool to spare to bring out another minion. It's good to
wheedle out another minion when you're already set up.
