Player A is bleeding B with a Social Charm: A Says Bleed with Social Charm B Says 'I Choose Not to Block at this Time' A Pumps the Bleed with Aire of Elation B Says Block Can B Now Block Legally? 2. Player A is bleeding B with a Social Charm: A Says Bleed with Social Charm B Says 'Dont Block' A Pumps the Bleed with Aire of Elation B Says 'I Did not know you were going to Pump it, I want to Block now' Can B Block Here Legally?

No. The struggle of action resolution works similar to bidding in poker, except that after every bid, the acting player's controller gets the chance to up it again. Opening the blocking opportunity window is such an effect. The acting player, after announcing the action, may play any action modifiers he sees fit. After he is done with playing all action modifiers, he may initiate the blocking opportunities window. The window technically handles all block attempts and then closes, allowing no further block attempts (unless a card or effect changes this). "I don't block now" is not a legal position. Once the acting minion's controller asks you to block, you may attempt to block any number of times (subject to the rules on blocking actions), but once you decline or fail to block the action, your declaration must be a (technically) final "no block". > 2. Player A is bleeding B with a Social Charm: > > A Says Bleed with Social Charm > B Says 'Dont Block' > A Pumps the Bleed with Aire of Elation > B Says 'I Did not know you were going to Pump it, I want to Block now' > > Can B Block Here Legally? There is no difference between the scenarios. You must either succesfully block the action or state not to block in order to proceed from the blocking opportunities window. Certain effects may allow you to block later (most notably if the target of the bleed changes, a new blocking opportunity window is opened, with the new target of the bleed being primarily able to block the (D) action). -- Bye, Daneel

Nope, You can only once decline to block (barring redirected bleeds, where each redirection gives you another chance to block). Once declined stays declined. If player B argues 'but I said "at this time"' tell him that it doesn't matter. > 2. Same as above, no. (also see the rulebook (( www.white-wolf.com/vtes/rulebook/ ) 6.2.2: Once a Methuselah decides not to make any further attempts to block, that decision is final. ) -Bram Vink

The decision not to block is final (until the target of the action is changed, or as otherwise explicitly stated on card text). -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
