Can you contest a card with yourself?
(Why would you want to do that? At first I though you could then play Thanks
for the Donation on both copies, but the wording on TftD seems to prevent
that.)

Perhaps the first copy of one of your unique minions became
incapacitated (Torpored, Sensory Deprivation'ed, etc.) and
contesting (and subsequently yielding the first copy) is
easier than fixing the first minion.
