Pair of Quick Questions

I was just poking around in the Monger and had a pair of quick questions about the texts of two cards. #1. Is the superior version of Preternatural Evasion considered S:CE? It says "SUP: Strike: this vampire burns 1 blood to end combat." But it doesn't actually say "combat ends" or anything. #2. This is probably intuitive for most people but just to make sure, exactly what does the "third counter" on Dreams of the Sphinx mean? I know it usually means you use it two times and then the next time you use it, it burns. But let's say you use the Dreams and then use a Goth Band to move a counter. The Dreams only has one counter now, but would it burn if you used it? It's the third counter that has been added, but I'm not sure if that is the same thing as "when the third counter is added" in this case. Thanks! Halcyan 2

If you find a way to move the counters -and Goth band is such a fine way, you can use it for a longer time (of course someone will rush the Goth band when they see you gain 1 extra blood & transfer each turn...) The problem is : Goth band can only take counters from opponent to put it on your Dreams of the Sphinx. So, the solution is : someone has to do this for you. Maybe you can make a deal using succubus club, so an other player can use your goth band to remove counters from your DotS to his Ventrue investment or Spawning pool... seems difficult though. reyda

In article <20010118182325...@ng-ch1.aol.com>, [ quoted text not captured ] Unfotunately Goth Band has been errataed so you cannot do it to a card you control. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

It will end combat as soon as strike resolution begins, just as, say, Majesty would. > > #2. Sorry to bother you with semantics but though it ends combat just like Majesty, is it considered a "combat ends" as a strike for purposes such as Dog Pack? I know that Preternatural Evasion looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, but I just want to make sure that it is indeed a duck! So while you've strongly hinted that it counts, could you just confirm it explicitly? Thanks! Halcyan 2

Yes. Any strike that explicitly ends combat is considered such. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. ERC [ quoted text not captured ]
