Oh my. So V:TES cards have the Mt$-style white borders? That would really suck. The rumours were that WotC had decided on deep-red borders, so as not to ruin the atmosphere - that would have been nice. Tom, is there some rationale behind this move, or is it just a random decision? I saw two V:TES (reaction) cards today that were distributed to my local game store for promotional purposes by WotC. The back of the card does say *VAMPIRE: The Eternal Struggle* (for any of you still holding out for *Jyhad*), but not only did they change the title but the color of ink used on the back to make your V:TES really stand out from your Jyhad cards. The Green colors were consistant with Jyhad but the within the letters a red ink was used as well as the black used in Jyhad. Not that a little color would matter much for those of us with 20/20, but I thought it would be nice to let you know. I was not impressed with the white inks used in the border of the reaction cards, I think it ruins the goth-punk-death mood, but you can't win ém all (and it seems we can't win anything when it comes to what the players want and what WotC is giving us). But the WotC bashing on this news group needs no help from me. It may have just been the white ink in the border but the ink used in the artwork seemed to be lighter as compared to Jyhad. Is there any truth to the rumor that they have changed some of the artwork in reprinting? I heard they were removing explicit/violent imagery (in other words censoring the blood out of vamp favorites like XTC Laced Blood, and Blood Rage). As an artist, a player and a vampire lover I find the censorship offensive not the artwork. What do vampires drink anyway???? And that can be a very messy affair, especially when up against another vamp, or when you get a little XTC in your O negative. Keep the blood flowing, and if mommy won't let you play remind her that there are many other *hobbies* which are worse, and at least you are using your imagination instead of playing concealed weapon at school with a real 44. -The Re-Evolved Gangrel *They can't bleed you from torpor* (unless the DT wants to dispute that)

Well, White Wolf apparently felt the reaction card face was gothpunk enough, else they would not have approved the border. You do know that we can't release V:TES products, or make major changes to the product, without their approval, right? (And furthermore I don't remember anyone having ever specifically said anything about light borders, so any argument about "what players want" is specious at best. Even people who have commented here about being skeptical of the new faces did not single out reaction cards in particular.) And to respond to the followup to this message: the card *borders* are still black. But the card faces now have varying designs, and the card face for reaction cards is rather light. >But the WotC bashing on this news group needs no help from me. It may >have just been the white ink in the border but the ink used in the artwork >seemed to be lighter as compared to Jyhad. It would have been the white border; VTES cards are blacker than Jyhad cards, if anything. >Is there any truth to the rumor that they have changed some of the artwork >in reprinting? I heard they were removing explicit/violent imagery (in >other words censoring the blood out of vamp favorites like XTC Laced >Blood, and Blood Rage). This is not true at all. V:TES represents a bloody, and often violent, genre, and the art and cards will continue to reflect this. I don't think that's what he said. If I remember the pre-release information, different classifications of cards will have different coloured borders. Thus, all Allies are one colour/texture, all Retainers another, all Actions a third, etc. The Reaction cards, according to this poster, are white. I understood him to be complaining that there were white borders _at all_, not that all the cards had white borders. All of this, of course, without ever seeing the cards... Shane H.W. I'm happy to hear that the blood is here to stay. I'll have to bleed the Methuselah who told me otherwise. I did not mean to cause confusion in my earlier posting, the V:TES cards are not white bordered in the sense of Magic cards. As far as the differing card faces for the specific card types I think the concept is a good one. I just don't particularly agree with the reaction interior border, but my opinion is only just that. -The Re-Evolved Gangrel
