A further rules clarification please. (sorry about breaking in on someone else's thread) Blessings of Chaos. It was discussed that a minion can prevent awes and bewitching orations from being played merely by attempting to block, this situation refers to say your grand prey or predator, someone you can't normally block unless you have an eagle sight. Is this the case or do you have to play the eagle sight and attempt to block the action ?. (Even if you are unsucessful the minion can't play the cards as stated on Blessings of chaos. Many thanks,

Only the predator or prey can attempt to block an undirected action. [6.2.2.1] You'd need Eagle's Sight (or Anneke or Enzo Giovanni). -- LSJ (vte...@wizards.com) V:TES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. Actually, it's sort of a moot point. Card text of Blessing: This is a +1 stealth action. Put this card on the acting vampire. If the vampire with this card attempts to block another vampire, that vampire cannot play action modifiers requiring Dementation, Dominate, Presence, or Chimerstry. Vampires opposing this vampire in combat cannot play cards that require those Disciplines. SUP: As above, and actions requiring those Disciplines cannot be directed at this vampire. Note that the disciplines that are restricted are Dementation, Dominate, Presence, and Chimerstry. Auspex, which is a "personal" thing (i.e. it affects your own senses and abilities -- it doesn't manipulate others) is not prohibited by Blessing. Thus you can Eagle's Sight all you want because it's Auspex. The fact that Blessing doesn't affect Auspex can be in important exception. If those !Malks try to pull off a very high bleed and make it unblockable or with high stealth, they may be overconfident in thinking that you can't Deflect it. But wait until you Telepathically Misdirect it! Halcyan 2

[ quoted text not captured ] You misread the question - the ability to play Eagle's Sight is not in question. Q: Can a minion "attempt to block" a vote to prevent [presense-based] modifiers like Bewitching Oration and Awe from being played? A: Yes. Q: Can he do so if he is not capable of attempting to block the action (e.g. his controller is neither the Prey nor the Predator of the acting vampire's controller)? A: No, unless he uses superior Eagle's Sight (or is Anneke or Enzo). > The fact that Blessing doesn't affect Auspex can be in important exception. Blessing only restricts action modifiers and combat cards (and action cards, at superior). It doesn't restrict reaction cards (like Deflection). [ quoted text not captured ]

[ quoted text not captured ] Thanks, The answer I was looking for was that bewitching orations can't be played if you attempt to block with a blessings of chaos, but you will need to play an eagle sight to block and prevent someone accross the table playing a bewitching oration if you fail to block.
