Since FD is an action modifier, can it be played any time during the action? Can it be played after combat? Can it be played after combat by a Vamp in Torpor? Thanks

No - card text allows it to be played only once the action is successful, or (in superior) once the action is blocked. >Can it be played after combat? Yes, if the combat was the action (i.e., Bum's Rush). A combat resulting from a blocked action is not part of the action - that combat takes place after the action (so Freak Drive would have to be played before the combat). >Can it be played after combat by a Vamp in Torpor? Yes, under the terms above (in Torpor after a Rush combat). -- L. If your combat was from a Bum's Rush then after it if it wasn't blocked (normal level), or even if it was blocked (or another action was blocked) at superior. In both cases I would say that you should play it after the blocking (or not blocking) but before combat begins. Shouldn't be playable by vampires in torpor because they can't do much. They are specifically noted on cards if they can (eg Movement of the Slow Body from Jyhad set) -- Justin

"They can't do much" means little in terms of game rules. If the vampire in torpor just completed an action successful or was blocked (at superior), they _can_ use freak drive to untap. @#$ The Corrupter $#@ @#$ Adrian Lee Sullivan $#@ Truth is as @#$ Game Theory - Coffee - Opinion - Hedonism $#@ subjective as @#$ <http:cslab.uwlax.edu/~sulli_al/jyhad> $#@ Reality ... Conversly, Reaction cards such as Cat's Guidance are played after the block is successfull but before combat begins. This may be the last chance to play action modifiers on the action. Don't really know what the RULE is. Stu

[ quoted text not captured ] That timing rule applies to action modifiers as well. If you are blocked, you must play (superio) Freak Drive before the resulting combat, or not play it at all. If you are unblocked (in the case of Bum's Rush, et. al.), you can play the Freak Drive (inferior) after the action (combat) is completed, as normal (even if you are in torpor at that time). Similarly, you can play Freak Drive (inferior) after other successful actions that result in the acting vampire going to torpor: Force of Will, an action modifier by Day Operation, etc. -- L.
