This is a situation that came up in our play group. I don't think it works this way but I gotta ask the question. I go to bleed my prey. He uses guard dogs to wake up and reduces the bleed. This leaves him untapped. I go in with my next minion to bleed and he blocks. He then says the guard dogs said if combat occurs you get a manuever. It wasn't used this action however. Does he still get the manuever? I don't think so; but hey, I have been wrong once or twice. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

No. The duration of action modifier cards and reactions is the current action. So, the maneuver from Alacrity doesn't carry over onto another action if you untap. And the maneuver from Guard Dogs doesn't carry over onto another action if you don't block the current one. -- James Coupe (Prince of Mercia, England) Vampire: Elder Kindred Network http://madnessnetwork.hexagon.net http://www.obeah.demon.co.uk

Thus if you play Guard Dogs (w/ manuever) but then block with a different minion and after that combat, you Fast Reaction with the Guard Dogs minion, the Guard Dogs minion does NOT have a manuever? (The maneuver doesn't carry over onto another action, whether you block the current one or not :-) -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Thanks! The action is not already over, since if it were, there would be no "acting minion" for Fast Reaction to affect (and there would be no action to react to in the first place). But, to answer the general question, Guard Dogs (like Rats' Warning) only provides the combat bonus if that reacting vampire blocks the action. [RTR 12-JUL-1999] [ quoted text not captured ]
