1. Can i deflect a bleed after it has been incremented with an action modifier? 2. Can i prevent the of damage caused by a DoB at the end of the turn? 3. Can i play Skin of Rock to prevent 1 point of damage caused by Carrion Crows? 4. Can i play Wolf Claws at the beginning of combat, to turn all damage to aggravated (Carrion Crows, DoB, ...)? Thanx a lot! .- Luis....@ip.pt

No. (S) As above, and opposing vampire takes 1 damage after each round. This damage cannot be prevented. > 3. Can i play Skin of Rock to prevent 1 point of damage caused by Carrion > Crows? yes. > 4. Can i play Wolf Claws at the beginning of combat, to turn all damage to > aggravated (Carrion Crows, DoB, ...)? No. Wolf Claws makes the vampires hand strikes (no melee weapons) aggravated. Can i prevent the of damage caused by a DoB at the end of the turn? Drawing Out the Beast. End of round, you mean? No. Card text is very clear on this point. > 3. Can i play Skin of Rock to prevent 1 point of damage caused by Carrion > Crows? Yes. > 4. Can i play Wolf Claws at the beginning of combat, to turn all damage to > aggravated (Carrion Crows, DoB, ...)? No. Wolf Claws only affects your hand damage, by card text. Damage from Carrion Crows, DotB, ... is not hand damage. -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@wizards.com) VTES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. In article <36272...@news.ip.pt>, "Luis P. Duarte" <Luis....@ip.pt> wrote: > 1. Can i deflect a bleed after it has been incremented with an action > modifier? Yes, you can always play a reaction modifier (like Deflection) in response to an action modifier (like Conditioning). > 2. Can i prevent the of damage caused by a DoB at the end of the turn? You are referring to the superior version of Drawing Out the Beast, correct? It cannot be prevented as that is what the card states. If a card states that its damage is unpreventable, then under no circumstances can it be prevented. A pseudo-exception is that unpreventable aggravated damage can be _converted_ to regular damage with cards like Skin of Night, Merrill Molitor, and Heart of Darkness. Other requirements for using these must still be met, however. For example, Skin of Night is only a combat card so it can only be used during combat and not after something like Force of Will. > 3. Can i play Skin of Rock to prevent 1 point of damage caused by Carrion > Crows? Yes, as Skin of Rock says to prevent 1 (2 at superior) damage. Carrion Crows does not state that its damage is unpreventable. Skin of Steel will not prevent the damage from Carrion Crows because the damage from Carrion Crows is not a strike. > 4. Can i play Wolf Claws at the beginning of combat, to turn all damage to > aggravated (Carrion Crows, DoB, ...)? Wolf Claws and the other Claws type cards say that your _hand_ damage is aggravated. This only includes strikes with your hands. Wolf Claws will have no effect on Carrion Crows or DOtB. Once you decline to block, if your opponent plays a modifier or something you cannot then attempt to block again, but you can always play a Deflection "in response" to a bleed modifier. You don't actually take the bleed until all modifiers have been played, and you always have the opportunity to play a reaction card in reaction to a modifier. "2. Can i prevent the of damage caused by a DoB at the end of the turn?" No. The card says the damage is "unpreventable". "3. Can i play Skin of Rock to prevent 1 point of damage caused by Carrion Crows?" I suspect so. Unless the card specifically says the damage is "unpreventable" (like Drawing out the Beast), you can prevent it with damage prevention. Note, however, that Skin of Steel won't prevent this damage, as it isn't from a strike. "4. Can i play Wolf Claws at the beginning of combat, to turn all damage to aggravated (Carrion Crows, DoB, ...)?" No. Wolf Claws _only_ effects a vampires hand damage (damage he does with his hand. Not a weapon. Not another strike. Only a hand strike doing hand damage). I am fairly certain that you can play it at the begining of a round, however.
