If I Redlist Reverend Redneck and burn him do I still collect my
trophies even though he is sent to the uncontrolled region?

"When any vampire burns a Red List minion in combat or as a (D) action
(including diablerie)..." means that whatever minion you're trying to
burn must actually be burned.

I think I know the Redlist/Trophy rules pretty well although always
good to get a refresher.
The question comes when the above is used in conjuction with Rule 10 of
the storyline tournament.
10. If Reverend Adams would leave the ready region, he becomes
uncontrolled (and out of play) and is returned to the center of the
table instead. All cards and blood on Reverend Adams remain.
Yes, Reverend Redneck get burned but is sent to the uncontrolled region
instead of leaving the ready region. So is he burned or is there some
"substitute" mechanic going on here that hoses the Red List mechanism?

Something that could burn the Reverend moves him to uncontrolled
instead.
The Storyline rule makes him unburneable, so things that need to be
triggered by "burning a minion/vampire" are not allowed in this case.

Correct. Rules text: "instead"
