Though my Prince told me to be quite, he forgets that I'm the achduchess of floppy pants, and his reign means nothing to me (except that he occasionally chides me for dumb play and gives me free promotional cards everyonce in a while...). Anywho, the two new cards for anyone who doesn't know them yet... SPOILER Erciyes Fragment Unique Master Put this card in play. Tap this card to move a library card from your prey's ash heap to this card, face down. You may look at that card at any time. You may play the card from the Fragments as if playing it from hand (requirements and costs, if any, apply as normal). When the card is burned, remove it from the game instead. Only 1 card can be on this card at any time. Any vampire with a capacity above 4 can steal the fragment (and any card on it) for his or her controller as a D action. Prophecies of Gehenna Unique Master Put this card in play. During your master phase, you may tap this card to look at your prey's hand. If you do so, your prey takes control of the Prophecies of Gehenna. Any Methuselah may burn this card during his or her untap phase by revealing his or her hand to all players. I love the first one, second one is OK, but perhaps not worth a slot. We're playing a preconstructed prophecies here in columbus, and I have a feeling these two cards are going to see a lot of play... ~SV

Since the ash heaps are public knowledge and open to inspection, do you have to declare which card you're taking from your prey's ash heap? And if so, why the "face down" and "You may look at that card at any time" bits? If someone else asks, do you have to say what the card is? --Colin McGuigan

Alhough its instantaneous and no one has a chance to do anything about it other than maybe talking you into taking another card. > And if so, why the "face down" and "You may look at that card at any > time" bits? So in keeping with the spirit of that if people don't remember what you put there when you put it there then it's their fault. > --Colin McGuigan

I do not think you have to make this card public, it does not say reveal to the table, it is not an action whose target must be chosen.

If someone else asks, do you have to say what the card is? 1) One shouldn't post (or quote) spoiler text withtout sufficient spoiler space. 2) The card taken is known, yes. 3) Cards in the ready region that are in play are face up. Those in the ready region that are not in play are face down. 4) If someone asks, you are not obliged to answer. Just like if someone asks if you have a Wake in your hand. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. LSJ, > 2) The card taken is known, yes. Question, the advantage of having the card face down is that your opponents might forget what it is? David

[ quoted text not captured ] From what he said just before, it's to differentiate it from active cards. What if it was a location? If it was face up people could get confused regarding whether it's been played or not (theoretically). As for the card being known... It has to be to avoid trouble, because people could infer which card it was by inspecting the ashheap anyway, it's just time consuming and annoying to everyone else in the game, so it's easier to announce it at the start and then hope they forget. > David ThunderFoot.

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] The rules suppose no advantage. If you find it to be an advantage, great. The reason that the card is face down is that it is out of play and in the ready region, as stated in the part you clipped. [ quoted text not captured ]
