Yes.
You must yield or pay to contest each of your contested copies.
So you yield one and pay to contest the other. (one pool).
(Or yield both and pay no pool, of course).
The one that you have paid to contest will return to your control
(be turned face-up) on the *following* untap phase.

It works on any contested card, but only if you are contesting it
with another Methuselah (and not just yourself).
