Here's a situation: I have Panagos Levidis ready with no blood on him. In my influence phase, i bring up to play a second Panagos Levidis. Both are contested and none can take any action. 1. Can any of them be a target of a Bum's Rush or Haven Uncovered? 2. If in my next untap phase i yield one of them, do i still loose one pool? 3. When both are contested, can i play a Minion Tap on one of them? Thanx! .- Luis....@ip.pt (aka The Gothlord) ---- ( http://enviro.dcea.fct.unl.pt/Gothic/Gothlord )

A Haven Uncovered cannot be palced on either of them, nor used if it was there. A Bum's Rush can target neither of them. >2. Pay one pool for each unique card that you are Contesting. (16) [8] No, you yield (b) before you pay (i) > >3. When both are contested, can i play a Minion Tap >on one of them? > No. Any card you play cannot target one of them unless it specifically refers to Contested cards. This applies to all contested guards. The only one I can think of off hand is Thanks For the Donation. That may/may not work on vampires. Dunno. If you are contesting one of your own cards, you must pay a pool for each contested card, or burn it. Since you have two contested cards, you pay a pool for the one you want to keep, and burn the other. There is no way around the one pool loss. > > > > >3. When both are contested, can i play a Minion Tap > >on one of them? > > > > No. Any card you play cannot target one of them unless it specifically > refers to Contested cards. This applies to all contested guards. > The only one I can think of off hand is Thanks For the Donation. > That may/may not work on vampires. Dunno. Sorry > Any card being contested is effectively out of play until all but one of them has been yielded. This means it may not take actions, play reaction cards, be the target of cards like Bum's Rush or Haven Uncovered or Minion Tap, and they do not count as controlled or uncontrolled vampires. It is as if the card isn't even there. Until it is the only copy of the card not yielded. Then it comes back into play at the beginning of your *next* untap phase. So if you yield one of your Panagoses, you don't get to use the other one until your next turn. At the start of this turn, it is still being contested, even though yielding one of them is the first thing you do. Thanks for the Donation is the only card that targets contested cards. It forces your prey to pay for contesting instead of you. *You* still decide if you want to keep contesting or not. I don't see much reason to not contest, unless you need to keep your prey in the game for one reason or another. Scott Halvorson halv...@cptc.wisc.edu

So you yield one and pay to contest the other. (one pool). (Or yield both and pay no pool, of course). The one that you have paid to contest will return to your control (be turned face-up) on the *following* untap phase. > >3. Sorry It works on any contested card, but only if you are contesting it with another Methuselah (and not just yourself). -- L. Sorry, I read the question as inffering "Do I still LOSE (not only 1 "O" in Lose - the other one is the adjective - sorry, pet peeve) one pool for the one I yield?" [ quoted text not captured ]
