Well a few more questions came up with the SCS. 1) How often is the combat card on the SCS usable. Once per round, once per combat, as often as legal. This question came to light when the SCS was given a damage prevention card. 2) The card text states the SCS has the ability to use cards. Does this inherent ability allowed to be used in conjuction with their normal strike? The card text does not state, but does lean toward a liberal view. If the ability is just like a vampires ability for agro or additional damage, then the combat card could be used in addition to the hand strike. What is the Official ruling on this? I'm not following you here. If the card is a strike card, then the Satyr may strike with that card. He cannot do so in addition to striking without the card for the same strike. You get one strike per strike, always. If the card is not a strike card, then it can be used, and the Satyr chooses his strike (when the time comes) as normal. If this does not answer your question, please restate the question. -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@wizards.com) Official VtES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. Ok, I never really thought about it until now, but the above doesn't really make a whole lot of sense. If we are talking about combat (X is "combat"), combat is/can be along drawn out ordeal with each individual round happening "during combat". I don't see how "During X, Satyr may do Y" limits 'Y' to being usable only once. "During the movie, I may talk". Does that mean I can only talk once during the movie? "During the walk, I may whistle". Does that mean I can only whistle once during the walk? It doesn't seem that way. Could you clear up any confusion (if any) I'm having? Darling: It works that way because it has been ruled to work that way. I pray you, look to DejaNews and examine the thread that graced these our thready halls lo these weeks and months past, when Shadow Court Satyr was new to the cardset. Essentially, because any other interpretation was abusive, the Powers that Be set the currently-ruled interpretation in stone. Ta, gomi practicing the 'poncey clanbook-talk' diction

It has been ruled to mean so: "During phase X, do Y" limits Y to once per phase X. > "During the movie, I may talk". Does that mean I can only talk once > during the movie? No, because it doesn't fit the template. X in the template is an event, not an on-going activity. "During the move, you may say one sentence" means that you can say only one sentence during the movie.' > "During the walk, I may whistle". Does that mean I can only whistle > once during the walk? No, because it doesn't fit the template. "During your walk, you may whistle one note" means that you can whistle one note during the walk. -- L. A friend was stating that since the cards said this was an ability, the SCS might be able to strike hands then use his ABILITY, which is not a strike to employ a cards strike as an ability rather than a strike.
