Trap and "cannot use presses to continue" (and Petra)

Mukhtar Bey cannot use presses to continue. Can he (or, for that matter, someone under Terror Frenzy) play Trap? Trap supplies the presses itself (and either minion can press to end against it), so it looks like it should be OK. If a minion opposing Petra in combat plays Trap, do they suffer the loss of blood during the press step? Again, it's the Trap that's the source of the presses, so I'd say they do not lose anything.

He can use trap, since trap is not environmental. He can not play dead end alley however.
