Cards in the ash heap are not "in play". But cards that are "removed from play" are not placed in the ash heap (which is just for cards that are burned). "remove from play" would probably be better worded as "remove from the game". > antediluvian awakening says to burn a pool at the _start_ of the untap phase. > the rules book says that the first thing you do at the start of your untap > is untap all your cards. but then the rulebook also says that card text > overrides rules. if you have to burn 1 pool to the antediluvian's at the > start of the untap, this means that you _have_ to burn at least one pool > before you get the chance to burn a vampire to burn the antediluvs. is this > reasoning correct? "start of the untap phase" is used a lot, and it is usually not clear why "during the untap phase" would not have sufficed. Untapping all cards still comes first, as far as I can tell. I'll put this on the list for RT review. > jyhad mob connections says "tap to get a press". no mention of who can get it. > sabbat versions says "give a press to a vampire you control". > vtes version says....well, i don't know. > was the sabbat version over-specified and should be "minion" instead? V:TES version specifies "vampire" as well. Probably this was an unintentional chage from the Jyhad version (it wasn't listed in Tom's list of changes from Jyhad to VTES), but I'm not sure if it's worth issuing new errata. -- L. [RTR 09-FEB-95] When the new cards were printed, this ruling was incoporated into the card text. Like most rulings that became card text, this was listed as a "change" by Tom on 24-NOV-98, even though nothing was changed. > and most other cards (i.e. KRCG) have explicit text indicating > when they may be used with other minions, so it seems to me that the > default for cards that give "stuff" to minions is only on your own > minions. In general, master cards can affect any Methuselahs minions (unless restricted by card text). [ quoted text not captured ]

Well, surely errata is necessary. It does make a difference whether allies can use the card or not. My allies have been using it, with myself in complete ignorance that the V:tES text was different. > > Not trying to get too big for my britches here, but this one caught my > > attention. The words "to a minion you control" were added. I assume they intended to merely make a similar clarification to Mob Connections, but instead ended up restricting it to vampires only.
