According to card text with Alexandra (Once during your turn,
Alexandra may tap or untap another ready Toreador), the following is
possible:
Influence phase, I bring out Alexandra. I then immediately untap
someone useful like Anson because it's still my turn.
I don't see any problem with it, but I have the feeling that this
wasn't an intended use of her ability. Also, a couple people I play
with have objected to the use (though we still let it go).
I was just wondering if there's been any ruling which would disallow
this.

I haven't got Alexandra, but here goes: If the card text actually says
"Once during your turn, Alexandra may tap or untap another ready
Toreador," then you're in the clear.
However, this sounds like something that would be an action, in which case
it would say "...may take an action to tap..." much like Precognizant
Mobility.
Please quot the text. Also, what's her capacity? I would be inclined to
believe she doesn't have to take it as an action if she's above a 9.

She's the Toreador IC member (capacity 11), and the text given is
directly from the card (she need not take an action).

Well, qouting from the DS errata:

Don't be disheartened - the ruling says that she may do here thing
even during a political action. It doesn't deny the possibility of
doing her thing at other times during the turn (i.e., it is missing
the "only" modifier to "during the minion phase").
The ruling doesn't deny the "I bring out Alexandra and she untaps Anson"
effect (though the rules team may (in the future) add the "only" modifier
here, as they are want to do everywhere else :-).

I may be misunderstanding, but I think it clearly disallows that since you
bring Alexandra out during influence phase.

Yes, you bring her out in the Influence phase.
And, yes, you can use her ability during a political action.
And, no, that doesn't restrict her use during the Influence phase.
Because, as I said, it has nowhere been said that you can "only" use her
ability during your minion phase.
It has been said that you "can" use her ability at that time, but her use
isn't *restricted* to *only* that time.
(Similarly, that you can burn the edge for a vote during your turn does
*not* "clearly disallow" burning the edge when it is not your turn.)

According to the card text, she already could use her ability at any
point in the minion phase. The errata seems to indicate that her
ability is confined to the minion phase, instead of the whole turn.
They probably ment to state that the card should read "during your
minion phase", instead of "during your turn". What other reason could
there be for the inclusion of this into the errata?

Because the question which prompted the ruling was "My toreador calls a
Domain Challenge, can Alexandra untap the lackey to reduce my blood loss by
one?" Now, since votes are only called during the minion phase, the errata
could easily be read as a clarification about when during the minion phase
you can use Alexandra's ability, without removing such use from other phases.
