Here is the combat sequence... 1. Bum Rush 2. Shadow of the Beast 3. Wolf Claws 4. Strike for 2 Agg 5. Strike for 2 mor Agg 6. Resolve Damage The first point of Agg sends the person to Torpor... then the rest of the damage is resolved by burning blood counters... so which is true? 1. Person loses 3 blood counters all of which are Agg? 2. Person loses 2 blood counters all of which are Agg because of the two different strikes at +1 agg each? Is only the first point of Agg per combat not resolved by spending a blood or is it the first point of Agg per stirke? Thanks! -< Johann Lionheart >- http://www.johannsdomain.com

[ quoted text not captured ] The combatant receiving the 2 agg damage in the first resolution phase must handle the two points of agg damage (assuming he doesn't prevent the damage). Every point of damage done must be handled. The first point of agg damage wounds him (since agg damage cannot be healed). The second point, also unhealable, has an additional effect now that the vampire is wounded: the point of agg damage will burn him unless he burns a blood. So he burns 1 blood. Now all damage is handled, and the vampire is no longer ready. So combat ends. The remaining, as-yet-undeclared additional strike is never chosen or resolved. Net result: the vampire burns 1 blood and goes to torpor. See 6.4.3 and 6.4.6 of the rules for complete details. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Resolve Damage If you're talking about Shadow of the Wolf (I assume that's what you meant, Shadow of the Beast is an action), remember that the +1 strength is only on the additional strike. So it would be 1 agg, then 2 agg. But unless the first 1 agg was prevented/dodged/avoided, you couldn't use an additional strike, since the opposing vampire is in torpor and combat ends before additional strikes are announced.

We didn't get to the damage resolution phase? Does this mean that you can not press to do more damage if the vamp is already going to torpor? -< Johann Lionheart >- [ quoted text not captured ]

If that damage sends the vampire to torpor, then the combat must end immediately. So, no. You don't get additional strikes, and you can't press to continue. Unless a card effect [like Undead Persistence, for example] contradicts the rules.

[ quoted text not captured ] The first strike is unaffected by Shadow of the Wolf. It will be just for Str damage. You could play Wolf Claws on the second strike to then inflict Str+1 aggravated damage, yes. [ quoted text not captured ]

[ quoted text not captured ] The agg damage will send the vampire to torpor if not pervented. -- Direct access to this group with http://web2news.com http://web2news.com/?rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad
