Masquerade vs. Eternal Struggle

To anyone.....Please tell me if there is a difference in these two Vampire games. I bought several boxes of The Eternal Struggle several years ago, but could never find the time to get into the game. This past weekend, I spent over $100.00 on books for The Masquerade, thinking they were books for the sets I had at home, which I later discovered they were two different names.
