I think i'll start a list of silly/overrated cards that should be revised
someday. I mean, when Sabbat and SW appeared, i had the cute sensation that
the power level of mostly all clans/disciplines raised considerably. Then I
bought a Dark Sovereign box and humbled about so many cards to be useless,
or even suicidal.
I mean, Oxford Univessity (Brujah location, 2 pool. Tap and burn 2X pool to
get X votes during a referendum. Can be burned as a D action) or Ruins,
Belgium(burn X blood BEFORE range is choosen to get X maneuver in that
combat) and so. Most of this cards look like interesting at first, though
then somenone decided to cut them down to wallpaper.
Anyway, this game had had sensible game changes that made some of the less
used cards become to be rediscovered (Cryptic Mission, Night Moves or
Movement of the Slow Body come to my mind). Will there be in a near future
an Aid From Bats-based deck?? I won't bet against, you'll never know...
Yes, I was trying to build up a Brujah Political-Bruise deck, and I'm sure
it will not be too successfull.

Grand Temple of Set (ugh), Of Noble Blood, Conflict of Interests and Tara,
The Hollow One to name a few more.

They've existed for a long time and they work really great, especielly
couples with Cariron Crows. I love to play them =)

I use Mercy for the Weak in Malkavian decks all the time. An excellent
weenie-rush-foiler coupled with Swallowed by the Night's maneuver.

I altered my weenie Animalism deck so that Aid From Bats is the main card
(based on suggestions from newsgroupies). It works quite well...
I'll post the new deck composition for you if you'd like.

If you wanna foil weenie rush, why not use obedience? MFtW is really
expensive.....

It also serves the somewhat ridiculous purpose of GIVING a blood to an
Anathema'd vampire so that you can actually "reduce" it to zero blood again,
in combat, as is required by the card text. But, if a guy gets to zero
blood and you need to burn him before anyone else does (Like, you already
got the Haven on him) there really aren't many other ways to *give* a
vampire one blood. (Leonardo is one, but even *I* won't propose a Giovanni
Anathema deck. =)

Obedience is very expensive, moreso than MftW in many situations.
It requires an untapped vampire older than the rushing vampire that
is either the target of the rush or can block it. This is a lot harder
to come by in a stealth/bleed deck than 2 blood.

But you also have to have more blood than the victim..which makes it hard to
use many times with the same guy.

And remember that in SW the use of Obedience has changed. You don't need to
intercept someones rush to play obedience. You just need to be untapped or
to be able to react somehow.
Also, playing MftW against a weenie is worst. One of the main drawbacks of a
weenie rush deck is the blood cost of their cards. So giving them blood
simply helps them at some range.
Even though, you can play Deer Rifles+Disguised weapons on a Malk Deck.
Those Two manenuvers helps you a lot against mosltly all the decks.

That's not a change - Obedience has always functioned that way.
