I have a question about the reaction card Cat's Guidance. It reads: "Untap this vampire. Only usable immediately after this vampire blocks." Which is the correct usage of this card: a) My vampire just blocked an action. Anticipating another action from my predator, I immediately play this card and untap him. b) My vampire just blocked an action. Then, after my predator has declared another action, I play this card to untap my vampire, "immediately" meaning right after I blocked his last action. c) My vampire blocks an action. Then a couple other vampires block other actions. Then I use CG to untap the first vampire that blocked, "immediately" meaning THIS vampire's last action was a block.

However, in friendly games, quite often b) is acceptible. c) is never acceptible around here. | If you've got a hot lead on a new | *--Joe--* | PC game, call the announce line at | js...@vt.edu | ** csi...@discus.ise.vt.edu ** | +-------------------------------------+---------------------------------- "Carnivores, oy!" -- Timon, TLK

The blocking vampire does the >combat untapped. No. This was the answer, but it has been (gratefully) reversed. Combat *is* the effect of blocking, not something that occurs later. Play Cat's Guidance (and Freak Drive) *after* the combat is over.
