This just came up in a JOL game and it's confusing us. Lisette calls a vote to burn a Bureaucratic Overload. She plays a Bribes on the action. People vote, some gain pool. Then someone plays Delaying Tactics. Errata to DT says that it's as if the vote never took place. Does this mean that Lisette needs to pay 1 blood to call the canceled vote (BO)? Do the Methuselahs who voted for the measure gain a pool? John Baker "I seem to be addicted to a drug that doesn't exist." --William Lee, Naked Lunch

[ quoted text not captured ] : At a guess, the 1 blood paid to call the vote is lost, the pool from the bribes is never gained in the first place, because: to call the vote with Bureaucratic Overload out is like any other action where the action card has a cost on it, the blood must be spent before the action ever takes off, secondly: the text on the Sabbat version of Bribes says that pool is gained after the votes are tallied, and since the votes never get tallied with Delaying Tactics then the bribes never get collected.

If the Delaying Tactic has been played, the vote never actually takes place, so all blood spend/gained is returned. Except for the Methuelah who played Bribes, none gain pool (pool gain comes after the voting is closed, which is after when Delaying Tactics is played). > Errata to DT says that it's as if the vote never took place. Does this mean The vote was cancelled. Slightly different than never having taken place. > that > Lisette needs to pay 1 blood to call the canceled vote (BO)? Do the Yes. She burned her blood when she started the action. DT says nothing about retrieving side effects of attempting actions. Similarly, the blood would remain lost if the action was blocked, even if Lisette played Change of Target or somesuch. > Methuselahs > who voted for the measure gain a pool? No, since 'voting in your favor' entails not voting against. And 'not voting against' entails completing the voting process. -- L.
