If I make Anneke Achingly Beautiful and then manage to make her an Archon also, does the Methusela of a blocking minion loose 2 pool or just 1? There doesn't seem to be anything preventing them from being cumulative, but I forsee complaints about this so I thought I'd check. Normally I would put them on different vamps, but I'm trying a "Damned if you do/Damned if you don't" strategy with Aching Beauties, Archons, and Camarilla Exemplaries. It seems to work well so far. --------- Paul Schaaf sch...@u.washington.edu

It's 2. Also, 2 achings or 2 Archons will have the same effect. >Normally I would put them on different vamps, but I'm trying a "Damned if >you do/Damned if you don't" strategy with Aching Beauties, Archons, and >Camarilla Exemplaries. It seems to work well so far. Definitely a good strategy for the Toreadors. It can fix the "no stealth" problem. With that much "ouchie" from blocking, I'd recommend going with the avoid combat strategy (dodge/flash/majesty) - you always need some combat when you can be blocked, and avoid takes fewer cards. Humorous use - I had Dorian Strack (Exemplary & Pulsed) and Dancing Dana (Archon). Dorian went in for a bleed, and my prey blocked with Guiliano (2 blood), paying 1 blood for the attempt. Dana then played Mask of 1000 Faces - and no stealth - so then he lost another pool when the block succeeded. Finally, since Dana is 2 hand, the now 1 point Guiliano went to torpor in combat. [ quoted text not captured ] I have a lot of fun with Change of Target in this deck. I bleed you, you attempt to block and lose a pool or two, I change my mind and call a vote. --------- Paul Schaaf sch...@u.washington.edu

Each card on the vampire produces its own effect. The only time things aren't cumulative is when a) it is an effect that changes an existing rule (such as Rumors of Gehenna) or b) when the card specifically states that it is not cumulative (such as Army of Rats with the erratum applied to it). Thus, an Aching Beauty and an Archon on a vampire would cause the blocking Methuselah to lose 2 pool. Add a Camarilla Exemplary, and you've got a vampire nobody will want to stop... | If you've got a hot lead on a new | *--Joe--* | PC game, call the announce line at | js...@vt.edu | ** csi...@discus.ise.vt.edu ** | +-------------------------------------+---------------------------------- "Carnivores, oy!" -- Timon, TLK

I thought that Aching and Archon caused the blocking Vamp to lose pool, not the Methusa... M.Kamensek

Peace Mark, I don't have Archon memorized, but I /know/ that Aching Beauty causes the owner of the blocking minion to lose one pool. Nil carborundum illigitimi, James R.
