The rules specifically state that rescuing a paralyzed vampire costs no blood. What if the vampire somehow managed to untap and is getting itself out? Does it have to spend 2 blood to get out? Also, a long while ago I posted a question asking "Who gets to decide which vampire spends the blood when I'm rescuing your vampire from torpor." Let's bring this one up again. Some possible solutions (feel free to add more): (a) I decide. (b) I need your consent. If you do not give consent, I'll have to pay the blood. (c) I need your consent. If you do not give consent, I can choose to Diabolorize instead; if I don't Diabolorize, I'll have to pay the blood. (d) By mutual consent. I can get a binding agreement from you before declaring the action. I'll vote for (a). (b) and (c) has a small technical difficulty when I don't have enough blood to pay ... -- "Live Life with Heart." Alan Kwan kw...@cs.cornell.edu

Does it have to spend 2 blood to get out? It cannot untap during the untap. If you Move Your Slow Body, I suppose you could untap it, but that would go against the concept of paralyzation, IMO. If you don't mind going against the concept, then you must abide by the remainder of the rules, namely, that you must pay two blood to rescue yourself from torpor. >Also, a long while ago I posted a question asking "Who gets >to decide which vampire spends the blood when I'm rescuing >your vampire from torpor." My vote: You name how much comes from each vampire. If a vampire (not under your control) does not wish to pay the cost allocated to him, then the action fizzles. No further arrangements may be made. No matter what, diablerie will *not* occur when a declaration of aid has been made. (No to (c)). L. Scott

Peace Alan, A paralyzed vamp may not leave torpor unassisted. > Also, a long while ago I posted a question asking "Who gets > to decide which vampire spends the blood when I'm rescuing > your vampire from torpor." Given that apparently there will be a new ruling that the rescuing vamp must pay at least one of the two pool, this may be moot as you'll probably end up spending one each. Let's bring this one up again. You're the one performing the action, so you get to decide what the costs are. If the other vampire chooses not to pay the rest of it, the effect fizzles and the vampire stays in torpor. I think you'd still lose any blood you put into it, though. If the effect fizzles, you don't get to diablerize, either. Offhand, I don't see any trouble with the rules. >The rules specifically state that rescuing a paralyzed vampire >costs no blood. >What if the vampire somehow managed to untap and is getting >itself out? Does it have to spend 2 blood to get out? Yes it does. Paralyzation has the specific alteration to torpor rules that an encountering vampire may rescue for free. No such alteration for self-rescue. >Also, a long while ago I posted a question asking "Who gets >to decide which vampire spends the blood when I'm rescuing >your vampire from torpor." Not a): I think a general principle is that you can't spend another Meth's minions blood without his consent. Not d): No provision for a BINDING consent. Once the encounter has been made, the encounterer must choose one or the other. So I'll go for c). If you don't have the blood, you MUST diablerize. Curt Adams (curt...@aol.com)

As you say, only the "encounter in torpor" blood requirement is waived. >Also, a long while ago I posted a question asking "Who gets >to decide which vampire spends the blood when I'm rescuing >your vampire from torpor."
