1) Trifles: What the hell? According to the Black Hand rulebook, you can't play more than 1 trifle per turn. I can't play Life in the City twice, even knowing that I won't be getting a third MPA from the second LitC? Shouldn't this rule read something like "No Methuselah may gain more than one additional MPA per turn as a result of playing trifles"? 2 Deflection: We've been curious about this one for the past couple of games. It seems like, according to its most recent wording, a minion can play Deflection to "bounce" a bleed back to its original target (ie, the Methuselah controlling the minion playing Deflection). This just feels wrong to me, but is it legal? If so, it would get around the inevitable discarding of Deflection during the two-player endgame - though it costs a blood, it might sometimes be worth it to Deflect back to yourself just to cycle. Thanks for the clarification. Kushiel

You can't even play a second LitC if you had Anson or the Parthenon. > Shouldn't this rule read something like "No Methuselah may gain more than > one additional MPA per turn as a result of playing trifles"? No; you can't bounce a bleed to yourself. http://groups.google.com/groups?q=author:LSJ+deflection+yourself&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&selm=38F5CB0E.CCA00256%40white-wolf.com&rnum=4 Card text also states "another Methuselah", but I can see where it'd be arguable. --Colin McGUigan

The rule empirically "should" read some other way? No. But, yes, any given rule could be modified into any of a myriad of similar rules. > 2 Deflection: We've been curious about this one for the past couple of games. > It seems like, according to its most recent wording, a minion can play > Deflection to "bounce" a bleed back to its original target (ie, the > Methuselah controlling the minion playing Deflection). No. Card text: "another Methuselah". -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. One would assume that they thought of that, and didn't do it that way on purpose. > 2 Deflection: We've been curious about this one for the past couple of games. > It seems like, according to its most recent wording, a minion can play > Deflection to "bounce" a bleed back to its original target (ie, the > Methuselah controlling the minion playing Deflection). As others have stated, it's not legal. It is worth it to note that the original wordings of deflections /did/ allow the above (unless maybe they were eratted before the current printings). -- -Snapcase
