Hi Jon, Don't mean to start off with a nasty question, but this one came up on Friday so... Anson has only one blood left. He does a bleed action with Legal Manipulations for +2 bleed. Before a block is announced the guy with Anson decides to play Aire of Elation to get rid of the card. What happens now since Anson has to pay for the Aire of Elation immediately and can no longer pay for the Legal Manip. 1.) Does the action continue with Anson bleeding at 4. Or 2.) Does the action fizzle (since the action card is gone) leaving Anson sitting there with no blood. Or 3.) Does the action continue unless it was directed at someone besides your prey (using Legal Manip) in which case it would fizzle. We had a unconclusive debat about this one. Please help us out. If you cannot pay the cost of an action when that action is to be resolved (after all block attempts/reactions/action modifiers), then the action fizzles and no effect is produced. This was answered in the specific case of equipping with a palatial estate (a 2-blood cost) with the acting vampire having only 1 blood when it came time to resolve the action. [TOM 951215] Note that you still cannot attempt an action if you don't have the blood necessary to pay for the action at the time the action is announced. -- L. Seems to me that Anson should have paid for the Legal Manip. when he declared the action, so he wouldn't have the blood to play Aire of Elation at all. In the case the action is blocked, he would get the LM blood back to use in combat. This is how we play here, anyway. I don't know if that is the official interpretation, but it fits the rules as they are printed, and works, too. Wallpaper Paste for all those useless cards

I agree, that's sortof how we play it here as well, except we don't physically take the blood off till we are sure it goes off (lazy buggers we are ;) -- //The Doctor. +-------------------------------------------------------------------+ | GCS -d+ H++>+++ s:++>+:+ g+ p2 !au a->+++ w++ v+(---) | | C+++>+ UHL++ P?>+ L+ !3 E N++ K- W(---) !M !V po+ | | Y t(+) 5>+ !j R+ G++@ tv+(++) b+>++ D+ B? e+ u+** | | h+* f? !r--- n---- !y+ | +-------------------------------------------------------------------+

When you are lazy you are doing it right... Steve Bucy
