We had an unusual problem:
Can you play Decapitate after a S:CE?
I explain: a combat occured between a Brujah and a Gangrel. During the
first round, the Brujah sent the Gangrel to torpor. The Gangrel then
played Undead Persistance and pressed.
During the secong round of combat, the Brujah plays Majesty.
The Gangrel then goes to torpor and the Brujah play Decapitate.
Is this legal? The two arguments were:
1- the combat is finished so you cannot play any combat cards anymore.
The vampire goes to torpor, period.
2- the combat ends. As the vampire goes to torpor, you can play
Decapitate.
Which one is right (I would say #1)?

#2 is correct (*).
Based on the fact that you can play Pulled Fangs after a S:CE
(Catatonic Fear). I would guess that you could play Decapitate
in the same instance, if the Catatonic Fear's damage was enough
to torporize the opponent. And Undead Persistence says that
the vampire goes to torpor when combat ends, which is even earlier
than the timing for Catatonic Fear (which ends combat before
damage resolution but the opponent doesn't go to torpor until
damage resolution), so you can play Decapitate on a Persistent
vampire when (as) combat ends.

This answer raises a problem. If you play Catatonic Fear, there will be
a damage resolution phase (as stated on the card). In this case, all
damages done by retainers apply (they do not count as strikes).
What is your opinion?

I thought that retainer damage was applied during strike resolution
despite not being strikes....

Unknown. There is no damage resolution phase (as stated on
the card by way of "Strike: Combat Ends"). So, the strike
resolution phase exists only as far as card text says it
does (i.e., to allow the strike to deal its damage). It
may or may not allow retainers (both employed by and opposing
the S:CE'er) to deal their damage.
I'll forward this to the Rules Team.
