Yet another (sorta silly) Dragos question

Okay, let's say I end up having Dragos running around with Fortitude...then, I get into a fight and end up playing Hidden Strength as a prevent. Now, given that the cost of Hidden Strength is listed as X (to prevent X+1 damage), and given that Dragos doesn't have to pay blood for combat cards, can Dragos prevent, say...1001 damage or something, for free? -ru
