Just recently, I aquired a Vtes copy of the Archon card, and noticed that
the Vtes and Jyhad versions are significantly different.
Which is official, and why?

The VtES version is official. New card text takes precedence (unless
it is errata'ed, which Archon is not).

Whenever a V:TES card and a Jyhad card conflict, assume the V:TES card is
right, because unless there is errata, it is.
