I was told recetly that the rules regarding Paralyzation (i.e. stakes and rowan rings) had been erratated. Could someone please tell me the new rules regarding these items? Matt Bell JPOA

Well, after an attempt to re-incorporate the paralyzation rules, WotC more or less decided to drop the concept, since it DOES apply only to 2 cards. In VTES (as opposed to Jyhad), Wooden Stake, the new version of Stake, essentially shows the new paralzation rules. But since all the specifications on the card are solely for that card, paralzation still technically doesn't exist anymore. If you want, for a house rule, you can take that version to apply to the Rowan Ring as well. Halcyan 2

The term has been dropped (it only appeared in the limited set). The paralyzation rule has not been errata'ed. Any card that says 'paralyze' still works the way it always has. But the only such card is "Rowan Ring". "Stake" has been renamed "Wooden Stake", and the official card text is: Wooden Stake Cardtype: Equipment Melee Weapon. <Strength damage> as a strike. If more than 1 damage is inflicted {on the opposing vampire by this weapon in a given combat, then that vampire is sent to torpor. In that case, this card is transferred to him and he doesn't untap as normal during the untap phase as long as he remains in torpor}. (Note: Rowan Ring is on the Banned List for DCI tournaments) -- LSJ (vte...@wizards.com) V:TES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast.
