Its state (tapped or untapped) doesn't change.
Only two things* tap minions:
1) Taking an action
2) Blocking (successfully).
Only one thing* untaps a minion:
1) The start of the untap phase
* And, as always, as specified on card text.
Going to torpor is none of these, so the state is unaffected.

It is returned to the active region when the "rescue" or "leave torpor"
action resolves (successfully).

It is free to tap to take an action.
Note: if it is empty, then it *must* hunt (unless some other effect
