On Saturday 2/16/02 Mark Loughman, V:EKN Prince of Newark Ohio hosted Storyline Newark. Twenty players participated, and I won it. Mark's synopsis will be posted when it is complete. Here is my winning deck: Can I wear this jacket? Crypt (12): Vliam Andor Giuliano Vincenzi Ricki Van Demsy Panagos Levidis Anastastia Grey 2x Chandler Hungerford Ramona Roman Alexander Raven Camille Devereux Mirembe Kabbada Library (90): Master (30): 5x Protean 4x Temptation of Greater Power 3x The Parthenon 2x Sudden Reversal 2x Eco Terrorists 2x Slave Auction 2x Archon Investigation The Coven Effective management Information Highway Golconda: Inner Peace Elder Library Succubus Club Backways The Barrens Storage Annex Zoo Hunting Ground 9x Gangrel Justicar 9x Cryptic Rider 6x Consanguineous Boon 2x Dramatic Upheaval 2x Rumors of Gehenna Praxis Seizure: Glasgow Meddling of Semsith Parity Shift Domain Challenge Ancient Influence Disputed Territory Kindred Segregation Justicar Retribution 4x Sanguine Instruction 4x The Embrace 5x Form of Mist 3x Earth Control 3x Rapid Change 5x Earth Meld I stole the chump Justicar idea from Matt Heslin, who stole it from Ben Peal. I had a goal of screwing with the World of Darkness in this Storyline format. I understand that the Gangrel have left the Camarilla in the clan novels. I like that my weenie Gangrel not only were Camarilla, but they elected a Justicar and then did wacky Justicar stuff. Thanks to Mr. Heslin for deck pointers and to Mr. Loughman for holding the event (and for allowing me to use Archon Investigation on his Lazverinus, Thrall of Lambach in the final). Can I wear this Jacket? Jay

uhmmmm..... This was V:EKN sanctioned no? How were you able to use Meddling in your deck? It's not approved for Tourneys yet is it? "Jay Kristoff" <j...@columbus.rr.com> wrote in message news:<tkSb8.49598$s43.17...@typhoon.columbus.rr.com>... [ quoted text not captured ]

Jay, That's one of the most Bizarre decks I've seen posted in some time, would you elaborate a bit on how the deck flows? BTW, I bet Noal is jealous he didn't do it first :-) BernieTime ========================= On Sun, 17 Feb 2002 18:08:25 GMT, "Jay Kristoff" <j...@columbus.rr.com> wrote: [ quoted text not captured ]

The name of the deck "Can I wear this jacket?" comes from the art on the Gangrel Justicar card. That funky brown leather fringe jacket is probably the bomb in Southern Ohio and other Gangrel type places. When I called that G.J. vote I would ask the other players "can I wear this jacket?". Many times I didn't need their approval to wear it. The special text on the Justicar vote "In this <referendum>, each Gangrel gets 1 extra vote" meant that I could usually pass it. Sometimes I would get my first G.J. passed on turn two (I had two votes for it passing), or other times I had to wait until later in the game when I had a swarm of green vamps to help pass the vote. After I successfully pass my first G.J. the ball starts rolling. The "trick" of the deck comes from rule section 6.3.4 "a vampire cannot have more than one title. If a vampire with a title gains another, he loses the first title, even if the new title would be a demotion". So... later in the game I call another G.J. I name my Gangrel that already has the Justicar title. The vote passes tremendously (I have 12 or so votes in favor). The Justicar yields his old title and puts on the new jacket. Then I play cryptic rider. The rider vote was usually a Consag. Boon (Gangrel); or any of the other cool votes in the deck (Justicar Retribution, Dramatic Upheaval, etc.). The C. Boons were paying off well with my army of Gangrel. Other special tricks in the deck include: -up to four master phase actions in a turn -play ToGP on a vamp more than once in one master phase -buy your prey's one big vamp with ToGP and then call Ancient Influence -Info Highway + Eco Terrorist = many green dudes -with Sanguine Instruction my chumps became masterful at Protean -Elder Library +Semsith = no pain, all gain The deck was fun to play, but it was difficult to keep track of all the permanents I had in front of me. Toward the end of the final round people were physically helping me untap everything because it took so long. Bernie, you'll see other strange Buckeyes, and myself on May 4th! take care, Jay Kristoff, V:EKN Prince of Columbus Ohio
