Amam the Devourer + simultaneous burning

Hello LSJ, If Amam has 1 life and is in combat with a Procurer with 1 life, and they both strike hands, does Amam gain a life from his text before burning himself? I think Amam burns (and is then shuffled into his owner's library), because damage resolution resolves simultaneously for both minions.
