Octopod question

Hi everyone. Vamp A is involved in combat with another minion during pre-range Vamp B (belonging to the same circle) plays Octopod san, and then draws into another Octopod, can Vamp C (also belonging to same circle) then play Octopod SAN? Collectively we said no because you can only gain additional strikes from one source, but I wanted to be sure we came to the right conclusion. [san] Only usable before range is chosen. The other Blood Brother gets an additional strike each round this combat (this counts as his or her one source of additional strikes).
