Question on Rotschreck

Hy, minion A (blocking) attempt to strike with a White Phosporous Grenade against vamp B (acting), that strikes with a S:CE (say, a majesty); minion A controller then plays a rotschreck against vamp B. Is that legal ?(to play rotschreck "against" a S:CE) If yes: 1) does minion A take the damage if he/she was using the WPG at close range ? 2 ) the WP Grenade is burned anyway? thanks in advance Emiliano, v:ekn Prince of Rome
