Finally the first of the migrated cards is reevealed:
Form ot Mist
Protean, Combat
pro: Strike: dodge
PRO: Srike: combat ends. If this vampire is acting, he or she may burn 1
blood to continue this action at +1 stealth as if unblocked (this action can
still be blocked). A vampire may play only 1 form of Mist at superior each
action.
I'd say the change is moderate and really ok for this card. And it will be
easy to recognize the card by the pic, whether you like it or not.

I think the change is PERFECT. It means the card still costs no blood, the
dodge option makes it valid in weenie protean, only the "continue action"
clause costs something. Plus you can't continue your action then end combat
with the superior S:ce version if you're blocked again or eat a psyche so
you'd better judge your opponent carefully and not rely too much on this
card =)
Great, great =)

The change is ok, and I think nicely in line with other recent changes..
I just still hope they wont add a cost to Earth Meld..
In any case.. Who on earth let that picture to go into print? Yuk. Not
as bad as some of the more horrible WW artists, but still..

Earth Meld does not have any errata on it to do that (thus excluding it
from the Migration set), does feature in the set (see the partial
checklist) and does not feature in the Migrations set.
So the chances of it being changed seem remote.

OK, does this mean that the combat card Form of Mist is now restricted
during their action or all actions? Could a vamp use FoM, be psyched
then play FoM again if they were not acting?

"A vampire may play only 1 Form of Mist at superior each action."
(card text, when the Anarch card text becomes official).

The simple answer is no, after playing a FoM at superior at getting Psyched!,
that minion cannot play another FoM at superior.

How is "cannot play another" any simpler than "may play only 1" ?

not really : you can play Staredown at superior again and again when facing

Erm, Earth Control is equivalent to Shadow Play, and only Lost in
Crowds is better. Aside from those three cards, there are no other +2
stealth modifiers usable on any action. I have seen so many PRO/dom
stealth bleed decks I now find them as uninteresting as old-school
Malk decks. (There were three at the NW Regional Qualifier.) I

Not to mention that Protean is now the only discipline with true unblockable
modifiers (limited Beast Meld and no strings attached Horrific Countenance).

Ever tried defending against a moderately fast bleeder or voter, with
Gangrel dom/pro? Your average capacity is really high and you need
many copies of the same few vampires (Illiana, Ingrid Rossler, the
Inner Circle member, Caitlin and Genevieve), which leads to cryptjam.
Both my SO and I tried it many times, and on a table with little
bleedbounce it may work well, but around here such tables just don't
happen often enough - not even in friendly games.
Besides, isn't unblockable powerbleed much more efficient? Either
nec/dom or obf/dom will allow this, and especially the former has room
for Le Dinh Tho as well, which tends to keep your gandprey alive until
*you* get to kill her or him. Much more efficient.

Patrick

PS. I still like Kindred Spirits though, for it's poolgain. But with
me being fond of strange decks, there's little change you'll see me
bleeding for whole lots, notwithstanding the efficiency of such decks.

But you've got pretty solid vote lock, and can bounce at least a few
times. Also, I usually see these decks bloating like crazy, so who
cares if a couple of 3-bleeds get through? Plus, with Ingrid and an
Info Highway, those big vamps come out FAST.

Yes, those could be more efficient, but my point was that Earth
Control solidly establishes Protean as a stealth discipline on par
with Obtenebration. Only Obfuscate is significantly more stealthy.

Unless anyone at all plays a vote deck with presence, that is. Sure,
Ingrid plus Stanislava means 6 standing votes (and Caitlin plus
Genevieve means 5), but that's rarely enough to block a voter from
doing his stuff, unless someone else has (say) Gratiano sitting
around. And even then, either you or him could be swayed by promises
and fringe benefits.

I agree with you here. After Obfuscate, Protean and Obtenebration are
the main stealth disciplines, although I think one could add
Necromancy. Dementation runs a little behind, and Celerity stealth is
a pretty good joke :).

*ahem* Chimerstry?
Backed up by the Ravnos permanents, the Ravnos are pretty hard to stop when
they don't want to be...
Though I'm usually far more afraid when they *do* want to be stopped.

Eh, not so much. Chimerstry alone can't get past +2 stealth without
permanents, though one of those cards is a repeatable S:CE+Continue,
which is helpful. The permanents are really the big part of Ravnos
stealth, particularly if you're playing a Gypsy deck. Protean, on the
other hand, can get up to +3 stealth, +4 if you're blocked once, +5 if
you also have inferior Animalism, and unblockable if you want to spend
the blood. Compare to Obtenebration - can get up to +5 (one of which
is also a block-fails usable by a non-acting minion), +6 if you also
have inferior Dominate. (We can't even count how high Obfuscate can
go, because it depends how many Cloaks you can play at superior.)
Dementation can only get up to +2, +3 if it's a bleed action (which it
usually is), and all Necromancy has is Spectral Divination, Call of
the Hungry Dead and Ex Nihilo, and that's only slightly better than
Celerity (which has up to +2 stealth and then a conditional -1
intercept). All the other disciplines have one or two stealth at
most, and/or stealth that's only usable for specific types of actions.
So yeah, I think of Protean as a stealth discipline. It's certainly
in the top three.

On a par with Dementation - sorry I forgot them. And Vicissitude has
about that amount of stealth as well, although they lack the clan
location of course.

I agree with you here, although one must mention that actually getting
your hands on the obtenebration stealth cards (at least Shroud of
absence and Blanket of Night)is an absolute HELLISH NIGHTMARE (at
least everywhere I go, which is quite a large part of Europe). [So if
any French,Dutch,Belgian,German..people read this whom I actually
haven't asked yet: yes, I'm looking:-)
