If ann acting minion plays Strike: Combat ends. Untap this vampire., can the blocking minion also play the same card to untap or can no more combat cards be played once combat ends?

In article <3oaer4$k...@nntp.msstate.edu>, [ quoted text not captured ] Certainly no more cards can be played once combat ends, but even more so (and without logic), combat ends as soon as the strike hits the table (rather than when the strike resolves), preventing the blocking minion from choosing a strike at all. -- ----- L. Peace Charles, Officially Strike: Combat Ends resolves IMMEDIATELY (DTR only knows why) and no other cards may be played. This is a Bad Thing (TM) and hopefully will be fixed (eventually). I use 8 Majesties in my combat deck and can use them offensively to tap my prey's vamps using one of mine, then go bleed him with 3 or 4 vamps. I don;t agree on card limits, but something should be changed about the number of certain cards...

Here is some more good ideas. I really can't understand why the packaging could not just be changed. In my oppion it will save WoTC money because they wont have to change the card plates or presses or what ever. The packaging is going to change anyhow right? Ok, if WoTC is going to change the backs then offer a trade in program. Anyone remeber antiquites? Do to the problems with sorting in that set WoTC offered 20 cents per card or a trade for an equal rarity. I would trade in all my Jyhad cards for V:TES cards in that situation and be very content (even thought I don't like the new name) This way the old players and the new players could both be happy. And if people don't turn there cards in they shouldn't complain. Lastly, a few reasons that haven't gotten much air time not to change the backs. It will look silly. I mean I think a deck with both kind of cards will just look silly and even confuse people. Say someone see me playing a mixed deck. And ask why the cards have differnt backs. This becomes instant bad press for WoTC. Something to deffinatly think about. WoTC has supported us in the past (see antiquites). I hope they don't stop now. I really like Jyhad and want to keep playing but wont if the card back thing goes through. Thanks for the time, Duncan McEwen

It is a DTR creating a new affect/rule from whole cloth. There are ways to beat Majestic bleed decks, but it really helps if you are able to cycle your (the defender's) cards during this. With the current ruling the defender just bends over and smiles (hope you brought your Vaseline). [ quoted text not captured ]

The only similar example in Magic are Alpha cards that are so rare that for almost all practical purposes, the only place you find one is in a collector's card binder. It certainly never caused their value to go up. Actually, I believe it hurt their value to be different. Fred
