(sorry but I need official clarification for my players) If Saulot becomes a baali.... and plays weather control, he takes dmg (environmental)... *But* how if another Baali has a Talbot's Chainsaw and the chosen minion is Saulot? (Talbot's text: If bearer is ready during your untap phase, a ready minion you control takes 3 damage). How if a "baali" Saulot plays basic Rutor's Hand? How if a "baali" Saulot has Talbot's Chainsaw (and choose himself for the 3 damage)? How if a "baali" Saulot uses Black Gloves (or zipgun)? How if a "baali" Saulot plays a Force of Will? How if a "baali" Saulot ... (did you have any other "no-combo" idea?) Best deranges, RavATwoFaces

[ quoted text not captured ] Unless I'm mistaken, all of these effects also deal environmental damage, because none of them specify that the damage is caused by the minion. This means that, like Weather Control, Saulot takes the damage normally. John

[ quoted text not captured ] Correct. Environmental sources (including Talbot's Chainsaw's untap damage, Rutor's Hand, self-inflicted damage from striking with Block Gloves or Zip Gun, Force of Will, &c.) are not affected by Saulot's special.

Cardtexts vary slightly between those two cards. BoS has an "inflict" clause. EoUH just has a strike 2 dam to list of targetable objects. ClanImp Saulot to Baali in order to give him protean so that he can play a combat card for four blood might be a tad unlikely, but having him become Baali to use EoUH for maximum effect would be interesting. Self-inflicted damage is always environmental. BaaliSaulot would take damage from his own BoS or EoUH strikes.

What if a oponent play "king of the mountain"? the source of the damage is enviromental, too? And if the oponent that played "king of the mountain" is a baali?

If Saulot joins the Sabbat, and Jaroslav Pascek becomes a Baali, he cannot inflict 1 damage on Saulot, because by his text it is reduced to zero. If Petaniqua the Baali, when in combat with Saulot, strikes hands at close range, the damage inflicted would be reduced to zero. In the vast majority of apparently questionable cases the source of the damage is an effect generated by a card played by the Baali (rather than the Baali himself). -- Bye, Daneel
