To All, I know that the VTES-L server was hit by a power surge or some such, but does anyone know if the list is active again, or what needs to be done to make it so? Any other info would be appreciated... Regards, R. David Zopf guenh...@mindspring.com Atom Weaver & V:EKN Prince of Boston, MA

Any other info would be appreciated... VTES-L is back up but the subscriber list seems to have been wiped out and is not recoverable. If you aren't receiving messages it might be good to resubscribe. Any other info would be appreciated... It is active again, but the subscriber list was not restored (problem with the backups, I guess). Anyway, if you aren't getting the messages, you'll have to resubscribe by sending mail to list...@oracle.wizards.com with the command SUBSCRIBE VTES-L <firstname lastname> in the body of the message (without the angle brackets, of course). If you don't want digest mode (you want each message to be mailed to you as it is received by the list), include the command SET VTES-L NODIG after the SUBSCRIBE command. P.S. I sent e-mail to everyone who was subscribed in July of last year who is no longer on the list to re-subscribe - did anyone get this message, or did it fall into the bitbucket as well? -- L. Several reasons come to mind... when Ryan Dancey (of FRPG fame) was actually talking to us, he only used the VTES-L as his means of communication. It's a good way to stay in touch with WotC contacts, and receive announcements from them (many businesses deny their employees newsgroup access during the day, for obvious reasons. This prevents it as an easy means for their communication). And it saves the muck of downloading all of the rules questions that are posted for LSJ to the newsgroup (he bounces all replies to the VTES-L). Oh yeah, V:EKN uses it fairly often, too...
