There's a problem here in that conceptually the acting minion would have to use Wolf Claws before declaring its strike, but the rules seem to allow it to wait to see what the blocking minion does. This has been kicked to the design team, who will decide what to do about it. Tom Wylie rec.games.trading-cards.* Network Representative for aa...@hal.com Wizards of the Coast, Inc.

The way the people I play with have decided on cards like that is like this- If the card is an action card it is used at the start of the round. The predator lays the first card and then the prey plays their card. After this, any action modifiers can be played. If you don't like the way it turned out you should have been more careful when you attacked a player with Protean. -- STD Technology Inc. st...@ug.cs.dal.ca

[ quoted text not captured ] Yeah, that's the way I've seen most people playing it. We break combat up into the different phases, allowing the vampires to use cards in each phase. First, we do the choosing range phase(use maneuver cards, etc...), then we have a strike chosing phase(this is when Wolf Claws, etc. is played), then strike resolution(take care of damage, etc...), and then we have caombat continuation phase(when presses, etc. are played). I thought that's how combat is supposed to be played. If it's not, then the rule books need to be ALOT more specific. --Greg Haun, gwh...@gemini.tntech.edu
