Hey, in the same deck, it gives Smudge > a perfect opportunity to diab that older vampire... Yeah, right! The last time some fool give "Muddles" an agg damage weapon (in our case a flame thrower) he got cryptic missioned before he could blink. "Oh, you've given him a flame thrower? I think I'll do a point of damage to him. I'm really sorry that you're out six pool with nothing to show for it." -- R. Has anybody tried playing 'FAME' and 'BLOOD DOLL' on Smudge-The Ignored? Think about it... I know it doesn't count as a successful bleed, /but/... It seems to be pretty damn effective. 1) Get Smudge into play (Hey shuddup! I like Smudge), or any tiny Vamp. 2) "Make 'em Famous" - (A la Billy the Kid). 3) Play 'BLOOD DOLL' on the poor sap. 4) Yank a blood off (A la 'BLOOD DOLL') (Prey loses 3 pool) 5) Save Smudge (or whoever) in your minion phase (Thus preventing your loss of pool in your untap phase if Smudge is in Topor.) 6) Repeat steps 4 & 5 STUFF TO WATCHOUT FOR!!! --> You MUST make sure Smudge (whoever) is safe in Torpor! If he gets 'Diab-ed' that screws up this whole plan (unless you got more than 1 fame in your deck). This means you should usually (heck always) save Smudge on YOUR minion phase. And YES there are some small holes in this plan... MINOR BOON, VULNERABILITY, and some others... Bla bla bla... I still like it! Oooh! One more thing! - Watch out for Amaranth if Smudge get rushed! Another cool trick! ( I'm sure most of you know this one ) Give the 'Muddled Vampire Hunter' the 'Ivory Bow' Sneaky huh? -Love and kisses Anvil - Clan Brujah P.S. Watch out for those Renagade Garou!

Taking one off of Smudge does not make him go into torpor. he just has to hunt next turn. > 5) Save Smudge (or whoever) in your minion phase > (Thus preventing your loss of pool in your untap phase if Smudge is in > Topor.) Well the untap phase is before the minion phase so you would lose one pool if this combo worked in the first place. > 6) Repeat steps 4 & 5 NO!! > And YES there are some small holes in this plan... there sure is. > > I still like it! I think it would be a kick ass combo if it worked. No hard feelings guy. I did not mean this to be as harsh as it may have sounded. But hey on the positive side, I might be totally wrong. Scott. Tom. Only lose pool when smudge goes to topor, and Smudge (along with every other vamp) will only go to topor when brought down below 0 blood. In this case, since Smudge dosnt have blood on him, he has to hunt, and a blood cant be taken off a vamp if there is no blood on the vamp. : 5) Save Smudge (or whoever) in your minion phase : (Thus preventing your loss of pool in your untap phase if Smudge is in : Topor.) : 6) Repeat steps 4 & 5 plan wont work, sorry. Only if smudge tries to hunt with 0 blood and gets blocked will this work. And you cant guarentee that he will be blocked. mike

You might try a nastier trick that I like to use is to give a small "Famous" vampire (like Smudge) Talbot's Chainsaw. You choose to have the chainsaw do the damage to Smudge which torporizes him, then send in another vampire to rescue the little guy. Or maybe use the Chantry? Removing a blood (or causing a blood to be burned) won't send a vampire, even an empty one, to torpor. And Fame only triggers on the vampire going to torpor. The only things that will send a vampire to torpor are: 1) Damage that a vampire cannot heal (either from lack of blood or because the damage was aggravated). 2) Card effects (Day Op., Nos. Performance Art, Rotschreck, Pulled Fangs) that explicitly place or send a vampire to torpor. Generic (non-damage) 'burn/steal/remove blood' effects are ignored by empty vampires. -- L. If you take Smudge to 0 blood with the blood doll, you can't take any more blood off him to send him to Torpor. Remember, to send him to Torpor, he will have to take more damage than he has blood - taking a vampire to 0 exactly does not put them in torpor. When Smudge is at 0, ALL HE CAN DO IS HUNT, unless you then use the Blood doll to give him a blood; which kind of defeats the whole purpose. Unde...@popmail2.vnet.net

[ quoted text not captured ] Nuther problem. Taking a blood off via a blood doll isn't even considered damage and cannot send a vampire to torpor. So, even if you have 2 blood dolls stacked and attempt to take 2 blood off, Smudge don't go to Torpor. He only loses 1 blood and then has to hunt during the minion phase. my predator threw this nasty combo at me last night: put fame on a vamp with 1 blood left, got into combat with one of my vamps (my mistake), he gave the famous vamp a zip gun staying at close range (had i gone to long he would have come back to short with the zip gun), and used the zip gun as his strike. i, of course, had to hand strike for 1 sending the famous vamp into torpor. after kissing three pool goodbye, he rescued the famous vamp and did the same thing next round (i couldn't avoid combat) and ousted me! something similar would work well when using talbot's chainsaw (choose a famous vamp with 2 or less blood on it to take the 3 damage, rescue, repeat ad nauseum). --V--V-- simulacrum "Modern art wishes to be negative, critical, innovative and a perpetual surpassing, as well as immediately (or almost) assimilated, accepted, integrated, consumed.
