I've just received a copy of Dragon (the first WotC one) and there is a very small poster with it for Gencon UK and a booking form. Anyone know if there's going to be a Jyhad tournament there? I'd love to take part in a tournament just so I can see different deck types to the ones I'm used to (having read the newsgroup a fiar bit, I'd love to see a Marty Lechtansi deck played properly, a heavily ally based deck or whatever). Other people go on about fortitude combat decks not being common where they are. I usually see two a game! (Chris with a Gangrel claw-fortitude deck or a Ventrue dominate(bleed)-fortitude (prevent damage if blocked) deck - Graeme normally plays a deck based around tiny bleeds and preventing the damage if blocked (sometimes has a few fairly large vampires in there to cast votes if necessary or have extra hand damage eg Sir Walter Nash, Lucia Pacciola and so on). Let me know if you can -- James Coupe (remove .nospam to reply) Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see, one chants out between two worlds, `Fire walk with me`

Matt Green (Matt_...@UK.wizards.be), a UK Customer Service representative for WotC asked me to pass on the following information: Wizards of the Coast R will be running the number one Vampire: The Eternal Struggle (V:TES) tournament in the UK on Saturday August 30th as part of 1997 European GenCon. This event will be run by Matt Green using the current DCI rules for V:TES tournaments. These rules include the following important points: Optional Rule #1 will be enforced. All players must ensure that their decks consist of between 40 and 60% of cards from the Jyhad set if any cards are to be used from this set. Optional Rule #2 will be enforced. All players must build their crypts using vampires from V:TES or Jyhad, but not both. It should be made clear that if a player or official has reason to believe that any player has a marked deck, an official may inspect the deck and further action may be taken if necessary. The following cards are banned from tournament play: Cuncutor motion (V:TES) High stakes (V:TES) Rowan Ring (Jyhad) Stake (Jyhad) Monacle of Clarity (Jyhad) Playing for Keeps (Dark Sovereigns) There are no other restrictions. Registration for this tourament will take place between 9.00am and 9.45am at the event. Play will begin at 10.00 am. There will be three rounds each of a 2 hour duration, followed by a final. Prizes will be awarded to the winners at 7.00 pm. Further details available on request. Matt. Green. UK Customer Services One man's unholy crusade to raise the profile of V:TES in the UK.
