Shouldn't you ALWAYS want Inner Circle Members to die?

Gang, This is a new thread from a topic that popped up during the current Watford[UK] thread. Shouldn't you ALWAYS want your opponent's Inner Circle Members to die? What I mean to say here is, when a big Big BIG fatty comes out, especially someone of THAT power level, isn't it reasonable to believe that "kind" of vampire, if not that exact vampire, is probably one of the cornerstones of their deck, and therefore you would want to remove that cornerstone? I mean, a nice Prince is one thing, but very few vampires have a KICK ME sign on them as big as one of those ol' ICers. :) Kevin J. I have to say, that I had 7 Inner Circle members in my deck last Sunday, and no I did not want them to die! The thing about IC members is that they are fairly hard to kill. No, seriously! The trick is in your choice of cards (of course). Ladeees and gentlemen, I bring you... Obedience! Basically, you get to stop a combat from a younger vamprire. Since there aren't many vampires older or even level with a 11 cap, then it is almost a given. This relies on Dominate being amoungst the disciplines, but I think only two of them don't have dominate (Harrod and Gwendolyn). Also it relies on stopping the action, but since most rush actions are at no stealth, this isn't hard. I am only focussing on rush actions here, since you are talking about hitting them, not bleeding, voting, etc. A Secure Haven helps (Especially for Leandro) but is not essential. Blah Blah Majesty, Blah Blah But even if you do hit them, they have a lot of blood, so take a fair licking unless it is aggravated. All have some sort of damage prevention, as well. Curiously, I think all of them (except maybe Etrius) have Celerity, allowing Preternatural Evasion - great if used with Flash or Pursuit to get out of harms way... And pity the fool who tries to get frisky with Stanislava, the Killing Machine... There are two cards, though, which NUKE IC memebers: Justicar Retribution and Fear of Mehket. I fear the first the most. But an IC member gives you a great oppertunity to deal - 4 votes is a very useful tool, the bleed a bonus, and the specials (if applicable, sorry Gwen) are too varied to comment on. I only got the points I did on sunday by dealing carefully (and sneakily) - eg. "I will back any vote you like, if you let me call one vote" (of course it was "Protect thine Own" against Moncada (hehehe). I say that they're grrrrreat. But not for the faint hearted. DH

I'd say pound for pound, the vampire with the biggest target on his head is Spiridonas. You need only be untapped (and about to enter combat with a younger vampire). -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. If, for example, your predator is already (or about to be) crippled, taking down an IC grand-predator can be a sound plan. >>I mean, a nice Prince is one thing, but very few vampires have a >> KICK ME sign on them as big as one of those ol' ICers. :) > >Depends on what the deck is (or isn't doing).
