Hello everyone. Just looking for opinions on this deck. I tried to modify it according to my playgroup, so comments are welcome. There are other cel/for minions that can be in this crypt that are small. And even if you run out of those, move diversity in the weenies always helps. -Peter

We'll need to know about about that playgroup to give you location specific advice. Here's a version of the deck I played: http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/msg/82495fb7b1596a72 > Crypt [11 vampires] Capacity min: 1 max: 11 average: 6.27273 > ------------------------------------------------------------ > 4x Enkidu, The Noah 11 ANI CEL OBF POT PRO for !Gangrel:4 > 3x Petra 5 ANI OBF aus Nosferatu:4 > 3x T.J. 3 cel for Gangrel:4 > 1x Kai Simmons 1 cel Pander:4 Diversity among the support minions is critical. Forced March is the least critical thing for you to be able to cycle with your other vampires, I went with more minions with superior Animalism to acquire backup Raptors. > Library [90 cards] > ------------------------------------------------------------ > Action [6] > 1x Army of Rats > 2x Constant Revolution > 2x Feline Saboteur > 1x Shadow of the Beast Feline Saboteur doesn't do enough for you. These could be Deep Song, if you have them. > Action Modifier [9] > 3x Forced March > 3x Forgotten Labyrinth > 1x Hidden Lurker > 2x Lost in Crowds Drop the Hidden Lurker, you really can't afford to waste Enkidu on that. > Combat [40] > 4x Earth Meld > 5x Pack Alpha > 13x Psyche! > 3x Pursuit > 1x Quick Meld > 6x Skin of Steel > 4x Superior Mettle > 4x Taste of Vitae I'd increase the Earth Meld for the free untap, since you plan to restart combat with the Psyche! anyway. Hit your opponents with the discard tech twice per action. > Master [17] > 1x Campground Hunting Ground > 1x Carver's Meat Packing and Storage > 1x Dreams of the Sphinx > 3x Fortitude > 1x Giant's Blood > 2x Guardian Angel > 2x Heidelberg Castle, Germany > 1x Rack, The > 1x Slum Hunting Ground > 2x Vessel > 2x Villein Vessel's are too slow. You need anti-Pentex tech. Replace those with Sudden Reversal. You will be removed the turn Enkidu is Pentexed, so you have to prevent that. > Reaction [3] > 3x Cats' Guidance Sense the Savage Way instead. > Retainer [15] > 2x Homunculus > 13x Raptor > And one more question-can Enkidu use "Dartmoor, England" (since it > represents a location)? Yes.

I can see why you pick them for the cel part, but you could also go more along the ANI lines, as that will enable more of your vamps to get the raptor thing going. Fact is that nothing ever goes as planned.. :) Adding Heidelberg will allow you to later get the raptors over to Enkidu. > > Library [90 cards] > ------------------------------------------------------------ > > Action [6] > 1x Army of Rats > 2x Constant Revolution > 2x Feline Saboteur > 1x Shadow of the Beast Shadow of the beast is super great for this. I am not too sure about the feline saboteur. I dont think you have the enough actions to afford something like that. > > Action Modifier [9] > 3x Forced March > 3x Forgotten Labyrinth > 1x Hidden Lurker > 2x Lost in Crowds I would skip the stealth and add more pack alphas. You have very few crucial actions you REALLY need, and even then I am not sure this stealth will be enough. I suggest (see deck below btw) to add more variety to your ousting module. Some that are not so action dependent. > > Combat [40] > 4x Earth Meld > 5x Pack Alpha > 13x Psyche! > 3x Pursuit > 1x Quick Meld > 6x Skin of Steel > 4x Superior Mettle > 4x Taste of Vitae I would split up the skin of steel and superior mettle into other prevent cards that also serve other purposes. Oh and add some more taste of vitae if you can. And more pack alphas. You dont have any untap reactions -only homunculus - so taking actions to get raptors are "expensive" in that you cannot defend yourself afterwards. > > Master [17] > 1x Campground Hunting Ground > 1x Carver's Meat Packing and Storage > 1x Dreams of the Sphinx > 3x Fortitude > 1x Giant's Blood > 2x Guardian Angel > 2x Heidelberg Castle, Germany > 1x Rack, The > 1x Slum Hunting Ground > 2x Vessel > 2x Villein Carver is good on paper, but I find that I very rarely get the value from it that I want. So I have taken it out (in spite of the fact that I have added dragonbound to my version, which it combos nicely with). > > Reaction [3] > 3x Cats' Guidance I would suggest adding some untap or wake reactions. > > Retainer [15] > 2x Homunculus > 13x Raptor Owl companion is worth gold in a reactive deck like this, and can also be fetched with pack alpha. > > And one more question-can Enkidu use "Dartmoor, England" (since it > represents a location)? Also good for this plan might be a Shepherds innocence or two, just in case someon cross table has loads of ,murder of crows or something.....

[ quoted text not captured ] What is your plan to oust your prey with this deck? You have strong combat, but very weak ousting mechanism. I recommend allotting 10-15 cards to doing pool damage to your prey. The way you win is by ousting your prey and not getting ousted yourself. Simply torporing all your prey's vampires doesn't cause you to win (usually it causes your grand-prey to win.) Cards you may want to consider: 1-2 Tension in the Ranks 2-3 Fame 0-1 Path of Lilith 3-5 Deep Song (you can using Enkidu's built-in rush, Earth Meld to untap, Psyche!, beat up a minion, then rush again with Deep Song.) 1 Dragonbound Also, since you are a combat deck and your chances of victory increase as you get more setup, you might want to include cards that help everyone: The Coven Powerbase: Montreal You might also want to include Form of Mist, since it's a great combat card + action modifier. You might also want to include damage prevention cards that don't cost blood, like Leathery Hide, Soak, or Skin of Rock, and/or flexible cards like Rolling with the Punches. I like Sideslip as well so you can dodge entirely. Instead of Quick Meld, you might consider Canine Horde instead, to deal with pesky guns that will shoot your Raptors. Also, you should realize that 1-3 Raptors actually help your opponents, because they will be able to cycle to cards they need to deal with the situation at hand. 4-5 is about a wash, and 6-7 does start hurting. You should aim to rush your allies at first, and promise not to hit them (either manuever long or end combat). Since you aren't trying Brinksmanship, and you really do want to torpor people, you might consider getting rid of the Raptors entirely, since 2 blood is quite expensive. You could replace with Murder of Crows, Raven Spy's, and Owl Companions. Your combat would likely be more effective (Murder of Crows is powerful), and the blood cost would be lower. I would increase to at least 5x Enkidu, if not 6x Enkidu, and then use a few Wider Views. With 4x Enkidu, you'll miss him in your opening crypt ~1 in 7 games.

Here's my version: Crypt [12 vampires] Capacity min: 1 max: 11 average: 4.75 ------------------------------------------------------------ 4x Enkidu, The Noah 11 ANI CEL OBF POT PRO for !Gangrel:4 3x Jayne Jonestown 2 PRE !Brujah:4 1x Smash 3 pot pre !Brujah:4 1x Anarch Convert 1 Caitiff:0 1x Lisa Noble 1 ani Caitiff:3 1x Nedal, The Careles 1 cel nec Caitiff:3 1x Sandra White 1 Caitiff:3 Library [60 cards] ------------------------------------------------------------ Action [1] 1x Army of Rats Action Modifier [1] 1x Enkil Cog Combat [32] 7x Earth Meld 7x Infernal Pursuit 6x Pack Alpha 6x Psyche! 4x Pursuit 2x Taste of Vitae Master [18] 9x Ashur Tablets 1x Direct Intervention 1x Giant's Blood 1x Guardian Angel 1x Parthenon, The 1x Pentex(TM) Subversion 1x Rack, The 1x Smiling Jack, The Anarch 1x Vessel 1x Waste Management Operation Retainer [8] 1x Homunculus 7x Raptor It focuses on getting a lot of Raptors on Enkidu in the shortest time possible with the use of Infernal Pursuit to cycle cards in combat, which are later retrieved with Waste Management Operation and Ashur Tablets. One needs to practice in order to play it quick enough, otherwise it gets a bit too frustrating for the other players waiting for their turn to come ;)

[ quoted text not captured ] Not enough Raptors. At all. You need 8-10, simply because some monkey is going to have +1 or more hand size.

ZaraZ

[ quoted text not captured ] The deck is compressed to a maximum - there simply is no space for another Raptor. +1hs doesn't really matter. What's anyone going to do with one card in their hand when in combat with Enkidu, especially when he's got access to combat cards starting another combat or even saving his ass if need be? Besides, soon enough everyone is running out of cards, since they need to discard at least seven cards to even try to mess with him. If I were to add anything to it at the moment, it would probably be Monster and/or Sense the Savage Way, but I would have a hard time picking cards to get rid of, cause the deck needs to keep the 60 cards count.

[ quoted text not captured ] This is the horrible possibility. This is why you need to make many raptors, very very very fast. You somehow need to refill the vamp, or make him pay less for the raptors. Ekiddu can do this via the fairly efficient method blur and taste on big buggers. Nizzam can do something similar, but he has the first strike option and provisions of the Sillsilla to aid him.

That's exactly what DI is for :) Worst case scenario - you bring them back with ATs and start again ;) > This is why you need to make many raptors, very very very fast. Infernal Pursuit+Pack Alpha+Psyche is the fastest way I have found so far - this deck my best working example. > You somehow need to refill the vamp, or make him pay less for the > raptors. > Ekiddu can do this via the fairly efficient method blur and taste on > big buggers. Blur is limited to additional strikes only and has a blood cost. Pursuit can be used for maneuver (which can help you cycle with Infernal Pursuit or set the preferred range) or additional strike. Enkidu hits for six with a single additional strike, that's enough to employ another 3 Raptors. If you feel fairly safe from combat it's best to employ as many as possible while cycling to draw Giant's Blood, leave Enkidu low on blood. Risky, but worth a try.

Okay, Here is the thought that comes to mind for me... You want actions to succeed (like say Bleeds for 2 with Deep Song or Tier of Souls...) but you also want you prey to cycle like the Tour de France... Bleed for 2 Blocked... Pack Alpha everything out of your hand... Survive the first combat (by whatever means... maybe Earth Meld?) Psyche FORM OF MIST... Prey loses wads of cards and then you CONTINUE THE ACTION... Rudeness ++ Sucks if your prey is a "play lots of WWEF/Forced/Pretend to be awake"

Bleed for 2, blocked. Pack Alpha a Raptor out. Try not to get killed. Psyche! Pack Alpha a second Raptor. Form of Mist. Don't expect to ever get blocked again. Luckily, Enkidu has a rush built in, but don't expect your prey to ever let you double dip with Form of Mist unless you have 0 or 1 Raptor on you.
