Weird timing issue, of course another corner case that only I'll ever think of: If I play Grasp the Ghostly, and get, say, a Bomb, out of someone else's ash heap, and then I use that bomb, does it go back to the Ash Heap when it is burned? Or is it removed from the game since it loses all its Pathos counters as it hits the ash heap?

More Grasp the Ghostly questions: What happens if the Grasped equipment gets stolen? During whose untap phase do the Pathos counters get removed? And, what happens if you Grasp a Crimson Sentinel and it changes control to another minion? The last sentence says "Remove all counters from this card if another minion gains control of it." It doesn't say "soul counters." So do the Pathos counters go too?

It's not a card that goes in play, so its effects are fully defined when it is played, and one of its ongoing effects tells you (the playing Meth) to remove Pathos counters during your untap phases. > And, what happens if you Grasp a Crimson Sentinel and it changes control > to another minion? > The last sentence says "Remove all counters from this card if another minion > gains control of it." It doesn't say "soul counters." So do the Pathos > counters go too? Online cardtext for Crimson Sentinel does say "remove all soul counters". That should match the SW printing if it's correct, so Pathos counters wouldn't go. :-) Not official answers, of course, but I'm pretty sure these are right. I wasn't so sure about the Bomb/ash heap/remove from game question, but found a previous answer to it on Google: If a Grasped equipment is burned before running out of Pathos counters, the "remove from game" effect will not follow it to the ash heap. http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=3BB84CCF.C9C9E633%40white-wolf.com Josh count on mike ooi to have gotten that clarified...

Doh, I was using Monger text. Guess that one got overlooked or paraphrased. > I wasn't so sure about the Bomb/ash heap/remove from game > question, but found a previous answer to it on Google: If a > Grasped equipment is burned before running out of Pathos > counters, the "remove from game" effect will not follow it > to the ash heap. > http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=3BB84CCF.C9C9E633%40white-wolf.com Now that'd be sweet, if only you could force things into other people's ash heaps... :)

Yeah, that happens sometimes in Monger. It's not always up to date with most current text. > Now that'd be sweet, if only you could force things into other people's > ash heaps... :) Heh, yeah. Well, you *can*... it's just not worth the effort, unless there's a better way I'm not thinking of. (Borrow someone's vamp, eg with Temptation, Heidelberg some equipment onto them, then burn it after it goes back to them with eg Kiss of Lachesis. But you have to have already had the equipment on one of your *own* vampires for this to work.) (Could try Succubus Club: "I'll give you this Assault Rifle in my hand for any useless card you want to give me!" Then make them discard it with, uh, I don't know, there are ways. Dr. Jest, Fear of the Void Below, Feline Saboteur. And of course the best one... Sleight of Hand.) Josh too bad you can't just be like "I'll give you this for nothing with Succubus Club. No, I don't care if you want it, it's yours now."

>Heh, yeah. Well, you *can*... it's just not worth the effort, >unless there's a better way I'm not thinking of. Maybe you could do something with Mark of the Damned. Burn your grandprey's vampires (or give him burned/ashed vampires) and do damage to your prey. You'd probably need Yong-Sun or Innocent Bystanders for that though. >(Could try Succubus Club: "I'll give you this Assault Rifle >in my hand for any useless card you want to give me!" Then >make them discard it with, uh, I don't know, there are ways. >Dr. Jest, Fear of the Void Below, Feline Saboteur. And of >course the best one... Sleight of Hand.) Of course you could still do this with a cross-table ally. Hey, wanna help me get a free Assault Rifle? =P Halcyan 2

Howdy Halcyan2, > >Heh, yeah. Well, you *can*... it's just not worth the effort, > >unless there's a better way I'm not thinking of. > > Maybe you could do something with Mark of the Damned. It'd be cool if Innocent Bystander worked that way. But, as we all know, Innocent Bystander is not cool in any way, except the picture. Hope that helps, Alex
