"Presently I realised that the direct symbol and excitant of my fear was the hideous pounding whose incessant reverberations throbbed maddeningly against my exhausted brain. It seemed to come from a point outside and below the edifice in which I stood, and to associate itself with the most terrifying mental images." -- H. P. Lovecraft and Elizabeth Berkeley, "The Crawling Chaos" Card of the Month: Week of Nightmares This passage above sets the tone for the Week of Nightmares when the Ravnos go on a maniacal killing spree after being inspired/cursed by their clan founder in an epic battle and come close to wiping themselves out as a clan. At first this card was labeled as a severe "Clan Hoser." However, imaginative players such as Matt Latham soon showed us the error of our beliefs. The trick is to remember that players "may" take a counter from the Week and place it on a Ravnos. For obvious reasons, you shouldn't move counters and if your opponents fail to do so, don't remind them. Vampire of the Month: Spleen, Georgio Gutterpunk As one of the many low capacity Ravnos and with such a cool name, it's a shame not to feature him for real this month. Take note that he's the only Ravnos with a disadvantage in his text, something that I'm happy isn't being limited to Caitiff and Pander. Those "disadvantages" can often lead to useful combos. Unfortunately for Spleen, he doesn't appear to have such an upside. Deck of the Month: Matt Latham's Week of Weenies The deck below focuses on an assault of weenies made more powerful by the introduction of Week of Nightmares once the armada is in full swing. Crypt: Spleen, Georgio Gutterpunk Sasha Miklos Vedel Esbreno Tsigane Lazar Dobrescu Anka, Priestess of Thorns Salbatore Bokkengro Sennuwy, The Promoter Khalil Ravana Ghivran Dalaal, The Dead God Andrei Puxon Joaquina Amaya Carlotta Giovanni Library: 11 Chimistry 6 Tribute to the Master 2 Path of Paradox 1 Inbase Discotek 1 Fortune Teller Shop 3 Ravnos Carnival 2 Park Hunting Ground 1 Week of Nightmares 6 Amria 9 Apparation 4 Trap 8 Trick of the Danya 9 The Embrace 10 Fata Morgana 4 Patshiv 1 Rom Gypsy 6 Ignus Faatus 6 Freak Drive Appeals for submissions: Submissions of decks, quotes and short fiction are cheerfully (no, really!!!) received and will likely get included in future newsletters...especially if they are particularly creative. Since the more submissions I get, the more regular my newsletters will be, send your ideas early and often. Week of Nightmares is >stackable<. With the right combination of masters, your weenie horde could be bleeding and punching at +4 or more. Those counters will pile up pretty quickly, though, and card text says that Nightmare counters from all copies of the Week will be triggered when the first Week is burned. Maybe you could save a few younger vamps by having another vampire use advanced Reality on them, but really the best solution is to make your Weeks count by bleeding as much as possible. The fewer Methuselahs there are placing counters, the longer your Weeks will last. Maybe you could kick this notion around in your next newsletter.

Well, don't you mean it *would* be stackable if it *wasn't* for that "Only one Week of Nightmares may be played during a game" clause... Halcyan 2

Heck. So I guess I shouldn't have traded all my Freak Drives for ten Week of Nightmares, huh? :-)

>So I guess I shouldn't have traded all my Freak Drives for ten Week of >Nightmares, huh? :-) Well it shouldn't be too hard to trade the extra Weeks away. They still are R1's and there's still plenty of demand for all of the R1's... Halcyan 2
